Bakroger's supporters rose to their feet, but Eren Saygılı was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Bernardo Ferraz breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. After 38 played minutes Pontal FC got a freekick which was hit by Sílvio Amorim. Oswaldo Barbosa made in the 40th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by S.C. Bakroger's Flavinho Pinho. When the match clock showed 48 minutes, the score became 0-3 when Eren Saygılı sped through Pontal FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Bernardo Ferraz. The Pontal FC players were disheartened as they walked off the pitch after the first half. S.C. Bakroger were winning 0-3.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Magno Eger to make the kick off. After some careless play in the S.C. Bakroger defense, Nuno de Moraes kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Eriberto Borges. The S.C. Bakroger fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Eriberto Borges should have stopped the shot. S.C. Bakroger made a substitution. Snorre Nordahl replaced Flavinho Pinho. Bernardo Ferraz came out of the goal in the 68th minute to try and stop a shot by S.C. Bakroger's Eren Saygılı. But to his dismay, Eren Saygılı quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-5. Eren Saygılı fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Bernardo Ferraz having to interfere. In the 73rd match minute, S.C. Bakroger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Waldir de Andrade to maneuver through the defense. After 75 played minutes, Pontal FC's Rui Corrêa shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Eriberto Borges came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Pontal FC reached it. Pontal FC's Bernardo Ferraz proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 86th minute of the match, managed to save Pontal FC from getting a goal against them. In the 87th match minute, S.C. Bakroger was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Chiquinho Baptista to maneuver through the defense. 90 minutes into the game, S.C. Bakroger's Eren Saygılı nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Bernardo Ferraz made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-7. When the match had gone on for 93 minutes, Elói Ortiz took a quick shot and it went in 1-8 without a chance for Bernardo Ferraz to make any attempt to save it. In the 98th minute, Sílvio Amorim hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The referee blew the final whistle, and the away crowd roared, having watched S.C. Bakroger eke out a victory against a very well matched opponent.
