The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Vitinho Gaspar made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dráuzio Paraíba in the 3rd minute of play. Zé Carlos Moreno struck a weak shot in the 6th minute. Alberto Queirós didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Lidice. After a defensive mix-up in Lidice's zone, Alexandre Vides stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vitinho Gaspar came out of the goal and Alexandre Vides tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Dagoberto da Fonseca kicked well hit freekick during the 13th minute of the match. If Zé Carlos Moreno had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 16th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Zé Carlos Moreno might have been able to make a better finish in the 17th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Queirós. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zé Carlos Moreno ran back to his position shaking his head. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Erik Cruz during the 18th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. Erik Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 19th minute of the match. In the 26th minute Zé Carlos Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Alberto Queirós saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Vladimir Ambjerg's late challenge caught a Lidice's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Vladimir Ambjerg helped the player get up and apologised. Gilvan Freire might have been able to make a better finish in the 35th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Alberto Queirós. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Gilvan Freire ran back to his position shaking his head. Dagoberto da Fonseca charged in rather forcefully in the 36th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Dagoberto da Fonseca the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 36th minute, Dagoberto da Fonseca hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Lidice's Vitinho Gaspar proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 40th minute of the match, managed to save Lidice from getting a goal against them. The supporters of Frutal FC booed when Lidice was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dagoberto da Fonseca didn't get a good kick on the ball. Cosme Frichoso received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 41st minute. Vitinho Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Leandro Prestes was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 43 minutes into the match. After 43 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Lidice! When the match had been going on for 46 minutes, Frutal FC's Efraín Bacete got an opportunity to shoot a penalty. He stayed cool and waited for the goalkeeper to move, before he confidently shot the ball into the goal, to the left of Vitinho Gaspar. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 1-0 at half-time.

In the 55th minute, Luiz do Nascimento hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Vitinho Gaspar showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Efraín Bacete, who was totally free with the ball in the 58th minute. Vitinho Gaspar showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Alexandre Vides in the 61st minute of the match. Frutal FC's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Cosme Frichoso in the 62nd minute. Efraín Bacete hit a great freekick 65 minutes into the match. When Erik Cruz came up free with the goalie in the 66th minute, the Lidice fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Erik Cruz couldn't finish the play. A collision led to Frutal FC getting a freekick after 66 minutes play. Dráuzio Paraíba hit a great ball. Dudu de Amaral hit a great freekick 67 minutes into the match. Efraín Bacete received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Vitinho Gaspar tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Alberto Queirós made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gilvan Freire in the 71st minute. Erik Cruz recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 73rd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Alberto Queirós showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Erik Cruz in the 75th minute of the match. The supporters of Lidice booed when Frutal FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 76 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alexandre Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. Erik Cruz hit a great freekick 80 minutes into the match. Alberto Queirós took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Erik Cruz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 86 minutes, Zé Carlos Moreno mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Lidice and the Frutal FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. Cosme Frichoso's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Vitinho Gaspar read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 87th minute of play. Thanks to some nice moves Luiz do Nascimento could shoot a difficult shot in the 89th minute, which Alberto Queirós however easily saved by the left post. In the 95th minute, Alexandre Vides made a precise shot to the right of Vitinho Gaspar. Lidice's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-0. Frutal FC's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
