Pedro Baiano's late challenge caught a Juventus Turim- DMZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Pedro Baiano helped the player get up and apologised. An unexpectedly hard shot by Glauco Zonta in the 35th minute of play forced Joinville City's goalkeeper Durvalino Vergílio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The fans had the chance to grab some refreshments as the whistle went for half-time. The score stood at 0-0 after a close first half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Glauco Zonta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcinho Félix showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Fernando das Neves, who was totally free with the ball in the 91st minute. Glauco Zonta struck a weak shot in the 95th minute. Durvalino Vergílio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Juventus Turim- DMZ. When the referee blew the final whistle, you could see the dissatisfaction in the Juventus Turim- DMZ players' eyes. They were disappointed they hadn't taken more from the game.
