Mauro Mergildo had several of the Proteu's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 10 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Isaltino Baptista as he didn't even see the shot coming. With a little luck, Proteu's Isaltino Baptista got control of the ball when Mauro Mergildo tried to sneak it across the goal line. The audience was convinced that Hamílton Berger's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Telmo Tande was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. When Antônio Pires fell near the penalty area in the 16th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Proteu's protests and gave Antônio Pires a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of ✞✞ POMMERISH KIND F.C. ✞✞ booed when Proteu was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 17 match minutes in a wonderful position. Antônio Pires didn't get a good kick on the ball. Isaltino Baptista came out of the goal in the 21st minute to try and stop a shot by ✞✞ POMMERISH KIND F.C. ✞✞'s Ronaldinho Pimenta. But to his dismay, Ronaldinho Pimenta quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-0. In the 24th minute Wilton Valladares shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Isaltino Baptista saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Hamílton Berger to make the kick off. Telmo Tande showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Denílson Tepedino in the 51st minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Denílson Tepedino got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Telmo Tande quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Hamílton Berger in the 59thth minute had a little luck and got a chance for a shot in front of the goal. Without hesitation aimed to the right of Telmo Tande, who managed to lunge to the right direction and made a save. Isaltino Baptista showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dagoberto Gaspar, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. In the 65th minute, Alex Seedorf left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Proteu fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 2-2.
