The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. Cristóvão Seco sent away a hard shot on goal in the 4th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 4thth minute of the game Ezequiel Andrade who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corinthians's Jaime Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. With a little luck, Manituba's Pedro Augusto Pinho got control of the ball when Elpidio Espiridion tried to sneak it across the goal line. Natã Pirani received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 13th minute. Pedro Augusto Pinho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 14th minute of the game Frederico Sampaio made a throw-in which Caco Batista played forward. Corinthians's Jaime Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco Batista in the 15th minute of play. With his leg Pedro Augusto Pinho managed to avoid a goal in the 18thth minute, when Corinthians's Elpidio Espiridion fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. The crowd rose to their feet as Corinthians's Elpidio Espiridion slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Pedro Augusto Pinho. That made the score 1-0 after 21 minutes of play. 24 minutes into the game, Corinthians's Elpidio Espiridion nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Pedro Augusto Pinho made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. 27 minutes into the match, Manituba's goalkeeper Pedro Augusto Pinho had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Elpidio Espiridion. Elpidio Espiridion was really disappointed when he shot the ball just outside the right post instead of scoring a goal in the 29th minute. Corinthians's manager could be seen on the sidelines shaking his head and muttering to himself as his team had just wasted another chance. After 35 played minutes Manituba got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis de Brito. In the 36th minute of the match, Elpidio Espiridion got a very nice opportunity to score, but Pedro Augusto Pinho was well-placed and pushed the ball away from the goal at the left post. After 37 minutes of play, Corinthians's Natã Pirani made it 3-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedro Augusto Pinho was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 45th minute, Kiril Biradzhiev hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field.

In the 52nd minute the ball was on its way in behind Manituba's goalkeeper Pedro Augusto Pinho, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Pedro Augusto Pinho showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Elpidio Espiridion, who was totally free with the ball in the 53rd minute. 57 minutes into the match, Corinthians's goal looked a bit too open when Caco Batista came free, but Jaime Almeida reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. 58 minutes into the game, Corinthians's Elpidio Espiridion nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezequiel Andrade got free with Jaime Almeida in the 72nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 74th match minute, Manituba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by 于耀剑 to maneuver through the defense. After some careless play in the Manituba defense, Elpidio Espiridion kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Pedro Augusto Pinho. The Manituba fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedro Augusto Pinho should have stopped the shot. Pedro Augusto Pinho showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from José Vítor Ramos in the 90th minute of the match. Manituba's Nicoló Galvan got a good chance for a goal in the 94th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The Corinthians fans cheered their team off the field, for while Manituba had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
