Corinthians's Kiril Biradzhiev managed, thanks to a brazen rush, stole the ball on a throw-in made by Sandrinho Valle in the 12 minute of the game. An unexpectedly hard shot by Elpidio Espiridion in the 14th minute of play forced SAS's goalkeeper Edvaldo Brasil to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Corinthians booed when SAS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 16 match minutes in a wonderful position. Edgar Salles didn't get a good kick on the ball. Sandrinho Valle made in the 23rd minute of the game a quick throw-in and Nilmar de Queiroz immediately put the ball in play. Jaime Almeida had in the 28thth minute some difficulties stopping Agostinho Carneiro's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. The Corinthians fans' excitement grew in the 37th match minute when Corinthians's Elpidio Espiridion looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 3-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The SAS fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Edvaldo Brasil should have stopped the shot. When Jiang Yi Chong fell near the penalty area in the 56th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Corinthians's protests and gave Jiang Yi Chong a yellow card for diving instead. In the 56th minute, Jiang Yi Chong hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Elpidio Espiridion might have been able to make a better finish in the 60th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Edvaldo Brasil. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Elpidio Espiridion ran back to his position shaking his head. In the 61st minute of the game Nilmar de Queiroz made a throw-in which Glauco Baiano played forward. Corinthians's Jaime Almeida played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Agostinho Carneiro in the 64th minute of play. After 65 played minutes Corinthians got a freekick which was hit by Kiril Biradzhiev. Edvaldo Brasil showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Elpidio Espiridion in the 69th minute of the match. Luiz Guilherme Madureira hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Edvaldo Brasil didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Elpidio Espiridion went, in the 73rd minute, to the upper right corner, 5-0 was the resulting score. In the 75th match minute, Corinthians was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jiang Yi Chong to maneuver through the defense. Jaime Almeida took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgar Salles, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Nilmar de Queiroz charged in rather forcefully in the 81st minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Nilmar de Queiroz the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Nilmar de Queiroz hit a great freekick 81 minutes into the match. If Natã Pirani had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 83rd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 86th minute, Elpidio Espiridion got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. After 90 minutes of play, Corinthians's Elpidio Espiridion made it 6-0 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Edvaldo Brasil was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 95thth minute of the game Luiz Guilherme Paraense who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Corinthians's Jaime Almeida was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Corinthians were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of SAS for a fine match.
