After a rather tough play, Acarahu EC's Cristian Trevisan got a free kick in the 10th minute. Dênis Prestes was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dênis Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Ruy Monteiro went, in the 28th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-4 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Nilson Miranda in the 31st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Ryszard Kopacz prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Acarahu EC's Dênis Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Rui Sabóia in the 32nd minute of play. After 35 minutes, Caco Souza made it 0-5 with a short kick to the right side. Acarahu EC's Dênis Prestes tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. When Sima Alexandru came up free with the goalie in the 38th minute, the Figueirense - FSCMZ fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Sima Alexandru couldn't finish the play. Acarahu EC's Dênis Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Caco Souza in the 41st minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Caco Souza in the 42nd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dênis Prestes saved Acarahu EC from getting behind. After a defensive mix-up in Acarahu EC's zone, Caco Souza stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dênis Prestes came out of the goal and Caco Souza tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Adalberto Cruz fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 46th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dênis Prestes having to interfere. In the 48th minute Caco Souza shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dênis Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Caco Souza to make the kick off. In the 51st minute, Romeu Gaúcho hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Dênis Prestes didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Caco Souza went, in the 52nd minute, to the upper right corner, 0-6 was the resulting score. Thanks to some nice moves Caco Souza could shoot a difficult shot in the 58th minute, which Dênis Prestes however easily saved by the left post. Dênis Prestes made a fantastic save in the 59th minute, when Caco Souza sent off a good shot on target. Rui Sabóia came free with the goalkeeper in the 62nd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Dênis Prestes could save by the left post. Acarahu EC's Dênis Prestes played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ruy Monteiro in the 63rd minute of play. Dênis Prestes took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Tony Hazard, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Caco Souza blasted a shot towards the goal in the 66th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Dênis Prestes having to make a save. Caco Souza could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 67th minute of the match, but Dênis Prestes made a huge save. Acarahu EC's defense didn't have a chance, in the 71st minute, when Ruy Monteiro scored to the left of an out of position Dênis Prestes, making the score, 0-7. When the match had gone on for 75 minutes, Caco Souza put it in 0-8 from a short distance just to the right of Dênis Prestes. It seemed to be an obvious goal in the 78th minute, but Dênis Prestes got his fingers on the ball or the save, leaving Acarahu EC hanging dry this time. In the 79th minute of the match Figueirense - FSCMZ got a corner. Acarahu EC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Rui Sabóia ran over to the corner to take the kick. A nice corner shot did that Rui Sabóia got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Dênis Prestes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. After 80 played minutes Acarahu EC got a freekick which was hit by Nilson Miranda. Adalberto Cruz sent away a hard shot on goal in the 82nd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. In a very dangerous position, a player in Acarahu EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 83rd minute. Penalty! 87 minutes into the match, Acarahu EC's goalkeeper Dênis Prestes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Caco Souza. Dênis Prestes came out of the goal in the 88th minute to try and stop a shot by Figueirense - FSCMZ's Caco Souza. But to his dismay, Caco Souza quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. Adalberto Cruz kicked well hit freekick during the 91st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Figueirense - FSCMZ's Percy Loureiro got a free kick in the 92nd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Nilson Miranda in the 94th minute of play forced Figueirense - FSCMZ's goalkeeper Ryszard Kopacz to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 94th minute, Augusto Tavares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Figueirense - FSCMZ's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
