A collision led to Biriguy getting a freekick after 2 minutes play. Dorian Dracena hit a great ball. After 10 played minutes Ernani Baptista rounded Biriguy's defense and shot a beautiful shot into goal via left pole - 1-0. 12 minutes into the match, Ernani Baptista dribbled the ball past the defender and swiftly kicked the ball to the left of Elias Pombal, 2-0. 15 minutes into the match, Ernani Baptista notched a goal, 3-0, to the right of Biriguy's Elias Pombal. Elias Pombal was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a little luck, Biriguy's Elias Pombal got control of the ball when Toninho Pereira tried to sneak it across the goal line. Ernani Baptista came free with the goalkeeper in the 23rd minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Elias Pombal could save by the left post. After a defensive mix-up in Biriguy's zone, Ernani Baptista stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Elias Pombal came out of the goal and Ernani Baptista tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Faustão Freire was extremely unlucky when he, in the 26th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Ernani Baptista had several of the Biriguy's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 26 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 4-0 score and a disappointed Elias Pombal as he didn't even see the shot coming. After a rather tough play, S. E. Palestra's Fernandinho Novaes got a free kick in the 30th minute. 34 minutes in the game, Vágner da Rocha fired away an excellent shot, which passed to the side of the right post without Elias Pombal having to interfere. In the 38th minute of the match S. E. Palestra got a corner. Biriguy's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Ernani Baptista ran over to the corner to take the kick. S. E. Palestra's Fernandinho Novaes got a good chance for a goal in the 41st minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. Elias Pombal stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Ernani Baptista's shot from short distance in the 42nd minute. In the 44th play minute Toninho Pereira came free and shot an unsuspected shot which went into goal from the right pole behind a surprised Elias Pombal. 6-0. All the noise was coming from the home fans when the whistle went for half-time. The home team had fought hardest to put themselves in a deserved lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Ernani Baptista stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute, Ernani Baptista left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The S. E. Palestra fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 7-0. In the 63rd match minute, Biriguy was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Willian Botelho to maneuver through the defense. Elias Pombal came out of the goal in the 65th minute to try and stop a shot by S. E. Palestra's Faustão Freire. But to his dismay, Faustão Freire quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 9-0. When Dorian Dracena was, once again, overly rough in his play he received his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. 69 minutes had been played. Dorian Dracena hit a great freekick 69 minutes into the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernani Baptista in the 71st minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Elias Pombal prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Elias Pombal took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Ernani Baptista, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Biriguy's Elias Pombal played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Tomé Trevisan in the 76th minute of play. The S. E. Palestra fans' excitement grew in the 78th match minute when S. E. Palestra's Ernani Baptista looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 10-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. The audience was convinced that Ernani Baptista's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Elias Pombal was relentless in the 85th minute of the game. In the 89th minute, Ernani Baptista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 11-0 became the score in the 93rd minute when Ernani Baptista elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar.
