Spectators: 7880 (Terracing: 5915, Seating: 1808, VIP seats: 157) Dark clouds were building up when the players entered the field. None of the them looked very eager to play. Ernani Baptista started the match with the kick off. 6 minutes had been played when some careless play by Fala Sério FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Ernani Baptista was slow to take the kick. During this time S. E. Palestra's players had a chance to rest. The audience thought a goal was coming when André Azevedo got free with Gláuber Ramalho in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Ernani Baptista in the 17th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Afonsinho Marques prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Vágner da Rocha sent away a hard shot on goal in the 18th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Basílio Vides kicked well hit freekick during the 20th minute of the match. When Basílio Vides fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored S. E. Palestra's protests and gave Basílio Vides a yellow card for diving instead. In the 21st minute, Basílio Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 22nd minute of the match André Azevedo shot from a long distance. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Gláuber Ramalho showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball. When Faustão Freire came up free with the goalie in the 24th minute, the S. E. Palestra fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Faustão Freire couldn't finish the play. Gláuber Ramalho stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Kauan Santos's shot from short distance in the 26th minute. After 27 played minutes Fala Sério FC got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo de Castro. After 35 played minutes S. E. Palestra got a freekick which was hit by Basílio Vides. In the 45th minute Vágner da Rocha shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Afonsinho Marques saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 46 minutes into the match, Ernani Baptista had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Afonsinho Marques. Fala Sério FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Ernani Baptista was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-2. After the first half S. E. Palestra were leading 1-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Kauan Santos stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd match minute, S. E. Palestra was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Edson Moraes to maneuver through the defense. Gláuber Ramalho made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from André Azevedo in the 54th minute of play. In the 58th minute of the match Fala Sério FC got a corner. S. E. Palestra's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. André Azevedo ran over to the corner to take the kick. When Fala Sério FC's Kauan Santos in the 63rd minute got a chance for a shot 63rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye S. E. Palestra's goalie prevented a goal. In the 65th minute, André Azevedo left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Fala Sério FC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 3-2. The Fala Sério FC fans' excitement grew in the 73rd match minute when Fala Sério FC's André Azevedo looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 4-2 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Fala Sério FC made a substitution. Ernani Baptista received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 85th minute. Afonsinho Marques tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. In the 86th minute, Basílio Vides hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After having played for 90 minutes, Raimundo Pernambucano managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Fala Sério FC's supporters crossed their fingers, but Raimundo Pernambucano was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The supporters of Fala Sério FC booed when S. E. Palestra was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 91 match minutes in a wonderful position. Basílio Vides didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 92nd minute, Raimundo Pernambucano made a precise shot to the right of Gláuber Ramalho. S. E. Palestra's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-2. Fala Sério FC's Afonsinho Marques played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Vágner da Rocha in the 95th minute of play. Fala Sério FC's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
