An unexpectedly hard shot by Júnior Negri in the 22nd minute of play forced Átomo F.C.'s goalkeeper Dorival Travassos to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. A collision led to Clube Athletico Valão getting a freekick after 24 minutes play. Clube Athletico Valão's Dedê Souza got a good chance for a goal in the 60th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. The supporters of Clube Athletico Valão booed when Átomo F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. The away crowd were delighted with the way their team had played and cheered loudly when the final whistle sounded. Átomo F.C. walked away with the win, even though the match was close until the end.
