José Pedro Bertassi stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Gugu Mandrak's shot from short distance in the 23rd minute. If Gugu Mandrak had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 28th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. 28 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goal looked a bit too open when Gugu Mandrak came free, but José Pedro Bertassi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. José Pedro Bertassi showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Reinaldo Figueiredo, who was totally free with the ball in the 30th minute. After 46 minutes, Fritz Ernst Joinvilense mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Botafogo AP and the Quata players grew even worse after the yellow card. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Gugu Mandrak stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Despite this José Pedro Bertassi quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. 71 minutes into the match, Quata's Gugu Mandrak sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that José Pedro Bertassi narrowly saved just below the crossbar. 73 minutes into the match, Botafogo AP's goalkeeper José Pedro Bertassi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gugu Mandrak. Botafogo AP's Sakarias Johansson was substituted for Reinaldo Kellogg. Matthijs Dijk made in the 77th minute of the game a sloppy throw-in which Reinaldo Figueiredo however managed to control. After a rather tough play, Botafogo AP's Pedrinho Alvarenga got a free kick in the 77th minute. When the match had gone on for 80 minutes, Gugu Mandrak took a quick shot and it went in 1-3 without a chance for José Pedro Bertassi to make any attempt to save it. Botafogo AP made a substitution. After 96 minutes of play, Quata's Gugu Mandrak made it 1-4 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José Pedro Bertassi was left in no man's land by his defense there! The Quata supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Quata would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
