When Juan Hoffmann came up free with the goalie in the 7th minute, the Riograndense FC fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Juan Hoffmann couldn't finish the play. Vânderson Pena made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dário Neiva in the 15th minute of play. After 15 minutes, Juan Hoffmann mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Riograndense FC and the Profeta SS players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Riograndense FC getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Juan Hoffmann hit a great ball. After 18 minutes of play, Profeta SS's Dário Neiva made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Vânderson Pena was left in no man's land by his defense there! Vânderson Pena showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dráusio Catarinense in the 22nd minute of the match. Vânderson Pena showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dráusio Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 22nd minute. The supporters of Riograndense FC booed when Profeta SS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 26 match minutes in a wonderful position. Dário Neiva didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 30th minute Dário Neiva shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Vânderson Pena saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 36 minutes into the match, Riograndense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dráusio Catarinense came free, but Vânderson Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Vânderson Pena came out of the goal in the 45th minute to try and stop a shot by Profeta SS's Tiaguinho Ribeiro. But to his dismay, Tiaguinho Ribeiro quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-3. An unexpectedly hard shot by Tiaguinho Ribeiro in the 48th minute of play forced Riograndense FC's goalkeeper Vânderson Pena to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Tiaguinho Ribeiro was the one to do the kick off. Dráusio Catarinense received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 52nd minute. Vânderson Pena tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Tiaguinho Ribeiro kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. Riograndense FC's Gilberto Barreto got a good chance for a goal in the 56th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 57 minutes into the game, Arí Lira was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Profeta SS's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Riograndense FC the free kick. Arí Lira hit a great freekick 57 minutes into the match. After some fancy dribbling in the 59th minute, Tiaguinho Ribeiro managed to get in a good position for a shot. Profeta SS's supporters rose to their feet, but Tiaguinho Ribeiro was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Vânderson Pena breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. 62 minutes had been played when some careless play by Riograndense FC's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Dário Neiva was slow to take the kick. During this time Profeta SS's players had a chance to rest. A well-hit corner resulted in Pedro Augusto Favoretto heading the ball towards the goal, but to his dismay he misdirected it and missed the goal completely. In the 64th minute, Dário Neiva got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Riograndense FC's Vânderson Pena played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Dário Neiva in the 71st minute of play. The audience was convinced that Tiaguinho Ribeiro's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Vânderson Pena was relentless in the 72nd minute of the game. After 73 minutes of play Riograndense FC's Juan Hoffmann was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. The supporters of Profeta SS booed when Riograndense FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 73 match minutes in a wonderful position. Juan Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. Vânderson Pena took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Dráusio Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. 76 minutes into the match, Riograndense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Dário Neiva came free, but Vânderson Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Dráusio Catarinense took the ball and in the 78 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Vânderson Pena. Vânderson Pena dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 0-4. 85 minutes into the match, Riograndense FC's goalkeeper Vânderson Pena had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Gustavo Viana. In the 86th minute, Profeta SS's Dráusio Catarinense dribbled the ball into the box and hit a shot with the outside of his foot, sending the keeper the wrong way. 0-5. Dráusio Catarinense could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 91st minute of the match, but Vânderson Pena made a huge save. 94 minutes into the match, Riograndense FC's goal looked a bit too open when Gustavo Viana came free, but Vânderson Pena reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Through an outstanding action, after 96 minutes, Vânderson Pena successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. Profeta SS's fans were overjoyed with their teams well-earned victory and stayed in the stadium long after the final whistle to celebrate the win.
