Paulo Victor came out of the goal in the 4th minute to try and stop a shot by SPFC's Luisinho Mangueira. But to his dismay, Luisinho Mangueira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-0. Yan Zonta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 9th minute. Dida Mazzola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. With a little luck, Esporte Clube Pilar's Paulo Victor got control of the ball when Ulises Gutierrez tried to sneak it across the goal line. After having played for 17 minutes, Yan Zonta managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Esporte Clube Pilar's supporters crossed their fingers, but Yan Zonta was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. After 18 played minutes SPFC got a freekick which was hit by Ernesto Bueno. An unexpectedly hard shot by Luisinho Mangueira in the 24th minute of play forced Esporte Clube Pilar's goalkeeper Paulo Victor to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After 35 played minutes SPFC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Vinhas. Dito Lara sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. The audience was convinced that Yan Zonta's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Dida Mazzola was relentless in the 40th minute of the game. In the 44th minute Ernesto Bueno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Paulo Victor saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 47th minute, Yan Zonta made a precise shot to the right of Dida Mazzola. SPFC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-3. Disappointed in the 1-3 score, the home team went to the dressing room to adjust tactics for the second half.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Yan Zonta stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Luizão Paiva kicked well hit freekick during the 53rd minute of the match. 60 minutes into the game, one of Esporte Clube Pilar:s players got tackled near the goal, and the referee blew for a penalty. Paulo Victor had in the 61stth minute some difficulties stopping Ernesto Bueno's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. In the 74th minute of the match Bernardo Vinhas sent off a long shot with destination to the right of the goalkeeper, but Paulo Victor skillfully saved the ball. A collision led to Esporte Clube Pilar getting a freekick after 75 minutes play. Luan Alagoano hit a great ball. Paulo Victor showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luisinho Mangueira, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. After 78 played minutes SPFC got a freekick which was hit by Bernardo Vinhas. After a rather tough play, Esporte Clube Pilar's Yan Zonta got a free kick in the 82nd minute. Dito Lara's late challenge caught a SPFC's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Dito Lara helped the player get up and apologised. After 86 played minutes Esporte Clube Pilar got a freekick which was hit by Dito Lara. If Luisinho Mangueira had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 90th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Through an outstanding action, after 91 minutes, Dida Mazzola successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. After a rather tough play, Esporte Clube Pilar's Luan Alagoano got a free kick in the 93rd minute. In the 96th minute Yan Zonta shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Mazzola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 96th match minute, SPFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Bernardo Vinhas to maneuver through the defense. The SPFC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. Esporte Clube Pilar were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
