Gilmar Damião charged in rather forcefully in the 14th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gilmar Damião the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. A collision led to EC Fragata getting a freekick after 15 minutes play. Gilmar Damião hit a great ball. 17 minutes into the game, XV Piracicaba's Miguel Ángel Furland nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Alan Antunes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 2-0. Felipe Chaves received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 22nd minute. Alan Antunes tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. An unexpectedly hard shot by Miguel Ángel Furland in the 24th minute of play forced EC Fragata's goalkeeper Alan Antunes to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. After a rather tough play, EC Fragata's Célio Nogueira got a free kick in the 25th minute. In the 27th match minute, XV Piracicaba was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Fernandinho Travassos to maneuver through the defense. When EC Fragata's Gilmar Damião in the 33rd minute got a chance for a shot 33rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gilmar Damião to make the kick off. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Miguel Ángel Furland in the 52nd minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Alan Antunes prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Miguel Ángel Furland struck a weak shot in the 53rd minute. Alan Antunes didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for XV Piracicaba. An unexpectedly hard shot by Gilmar Damião in the 55th minute of play forced XV Piracicaba's goalkeeper Fred Urbano to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 66th minute, Nico Barros hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 67 minutes into the game, Gilmar Damião cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 2-3. Fred Urbano was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Nico Barros fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 71st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Alan Antunes having to interfere. After 73 played minutes EC Fragata got a freekick which was hit by Gilmar Damião. EC Fragata's Célio Nogueira got a good chance for a goal in the 76th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. After a defensive mix-up in XV Piracicaba's zone, Célio Nogueira stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Fred Urbano came out of the goal and Célio Nogueira tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Fred Urbano was out of position in the 79 minute of play, and Gilmar Damião capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Gilmar Damião really showed his touch with that goal: 2-4. After a defensive mix-up in EC Fragata's zone, Miguel Ángel Furland stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Alan Antunes came out of the goal and Miguel Ángel Furland tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 89th minute Gilmar Damião shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fred Urbano saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 92 played minutes XV Piracicaba got a freekick which was hit by Gino Couto. The XV Piracicaba supporters were disappointed that their team didn't take anything from the match, despite matching EC Fragata's performance. The match ended with a win for EC Fragata.
