SPFC's Dida Mazzola played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Antonio Manuelo in the 24th minute of play. 26 minutes into the match, Eda Roots's goal looked a bit too open when Ulises Gutierrez came free, but Ronaldão Arósio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Oséas Peres hit a great freekick 33 minutes into the match. In the 35th minute Luiz Fábio Moreno shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Dida Mazzola saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Eda Roots were awarded a corner in the 41th minute after SPFC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Oséas Peres took the corner. Dida Mazzola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luiz Fábio Moreno, who was totally free with the ball in the 44th minute. Dorival Bueno could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 47th minute of the match, but Dida Mazzola made a huge save. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-1 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The wind increased when Dorival Bueno made the kick off in the second half. Dida Mazzola made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Dorival Bueno in the 51st minute of play. In the 61stth minute of the game Luiz Fábio Moreno who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but SPFC's Dida Mazzola was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. In the 70th minute, SPFC's Ulises Gutierrez ran free of his marker and smoothly shot the ball into the goal behind Ronaldão Arósio. Ronaldão Arósio yelled at his defense, as they had left him out to dry. 0-2. Luiz Fábio Moreno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 75th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Dida Mazzola having to interfere. Dida Mazzola showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Dorival Bueno, who was totally free with the ball in the 76th minute. Luiz Fábio Moreno received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 79th minute. Dida Mazzola tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After 82 minutes of play, Eda Roots's Luiz Fábio Moreno made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Dida Mazzola was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 84th match minute, SPFC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Herminio Izel to maneuver through the defense. An unexpectedly hard shot by Ernesto Prosperi in the 88th minute of play forced Eda Roots's goalkeeper Ronaldão Arósio to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Dorival Bueno hit a great freekick 89 minutes into the match. Dorival Bueno scored 2-2 in the 92nd match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Dida Mazzola, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 95th minute Ernesto Prosperi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ronaldão Arósio saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jeers came from both ends of the stadium when the final whistle went. Neither team had looked impressive and the draw seeemd a fair result.
