After a rather tough play, Eda Roots's Claudinei Barbosa got a free kick in the 12th minute. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Andrézinho de Almeida during the 13th minute. In the 33rd minute the ball was on its way in behind Buritama Sport Club's goalkeeper Paulo de Godoi, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Benjamin Eger fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 34th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo de Godoi having to interfere. When the match clock showed 36 minutes, the score became 2-0 when Antonio Manuelo sped through Buritama Sport Club's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Paulo de Godoi. 41 minutes into the match, Buritama Sport Club's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fábio Moreno came free, but Paulo de Godoi reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. After a rather tough play, Buritama Sport Club's Tales Moreira got a free kick in the 43rd minute. 44 minutes into the match, Buritama Sport Club's goalkeeper Paulo de Godoi had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Dorival Bueno. With an all-out effort, Eda Roots's Paulo de Godoi threw himself towards the right post 45 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Luiz Fábio Moreno, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Paulo de Godoi made a fantastic save in the 47th minute, when Dorival Bueno sent off a good shot on target.

A collision led to Buritama Sport Club getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Paulinho de Lima hit a great ball. When Marcelinho Antunes came up free with the goalie in the 59th minute, the Eda Roots fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Marcelinho Antunes couldn't finish the play. Benjamin Eger struck a weak shot in the 63rd minute. Paulo de Godoi didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Eda Roots. Paulo de Godoi took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Antonio Manuelo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Arnaldo Barbosa kicked well hit freekick during the 67th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Dorival Bueno in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Paulo de Godoi prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Claudinei Barbosa hit a great freekick 70 minutes into the match. The supporters of Buritama Sport Club booed when Eda Roots was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Moreno didn't get a good kick on the ball. Dorival Bueno fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 81st minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Paulo de Godoi having to interfere. After some careless play in the Buritama Sport Club defense, Dorival Bueno kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Paulo de Godoi. The Buritama Sport Club fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Paulo de Godoi should have stopped the shot. Paulo de Godoi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Luiz Fábio Moreno in the 95th minute of the match. When the referee ended the match the Eda Roots players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
