An unexpectedly hard shot by César de Queiroz in the 14th minute of play forced Flu Lawyers Soccer Club's goalkeeper Evaristo Neves to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 19th minute André Luís Best shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ronaldão Jaafari's shot straight on target was not completely harmless. The ball had pretty good speed, but Fynn John firmly grabbed it by the left post. In the 22nd minute, César de Queiroz left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Atlético Mineiro fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 25 minutes into the game, Flu Lawyers Soccer Club's Enio Berger nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Fynn John made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 29th minute Benê Rodrigues shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Evaristo Neves saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 30th minute the ball was on its way in behind Flu Lawyers Soccer Club's goalkeeper Evaristo Neves, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Flu Lawyers Soccer Club's Evaristo Neves played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by André Luís Best in the 33rd minute of play. When César de Queiroz came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Atlético Mineiro fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that César de Queiroz couldn't finish the play. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 2-1 at half-time.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and André Luís Best made a kick off. Evaristo Neves made a fantastic save in the 52nd minute, when Benê Rodrigues sent off a good shot on target. Evaristo Neves was a little too slow when Benê Rodrigues got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 52nd minute. The score was now 2-2. Evaristo Neves stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of André Luís Best's shot from short distance in the 55th minute. Ove Friberger kicked well hit freekick during the 59th minute of the match. Fynn John showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Ronaldão Jaafari in the 62nd minute of the match. André Luís Best sent away a hard shot on goal in the 63rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Fynn John came out of the goal in the 64th minute to try and stop a shot by Flu Lawyers Soccer Club's Enio Berger. But to his dismay, Enio Berger quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-2. Benê Rodrigues received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 69th minute. Evaristo Neves tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Evaristo Neves had great luck who in the 80thth minute grab hold of the ball when André Luís Best from a short distance tried to put the ball inside the right post. Atlético Mineiro made a substitution. Agostinho Faria replaced Waclaw Olchowy. Atlético Mineiro's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Tomé Brasil in the 83rd minute. Enio Berger charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Enio Berger the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Benê Rodrigues's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Evaristo Neves read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Long Samast could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 87th minute of the match, but Evaristo Neves made a huge save. The audience was convinced that André Luís Best's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Evaristo Neves was relentless in the 90th minute of the game. Teodoro Sampaio's late challenge caught a Atlético Mineiro's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Teodoro Sampaio helped the player get up and apologised. The supporters of Atlético Mineiro booed when Flu Lawyers Soccer Club was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 94 match minutes in a wonderful position. Teodoro Sampaio didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tomé Brasil, 95 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal.
