The supporters of Atlético Mineiro booed when Muqui FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 9 match minutes in a wonderful position. Radowit Mazurkiewicz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fynn John showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Gabi Orange in the 13th minute of the match. In the 16th minute Gabi Orange shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fynn John saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Long Samast could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 34th minute of the match, but Best Taffarel made a huge save. Muqui FC's Best Taffarel proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 35th minute of the match, managed to save Muqui FC from getting a goal against them. 46 minutes into the match, Atlético Mineiro's goal looked a bit too open when Gabi Orange came free, but Fynn John reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee blew for the end of the half the home team players were clearly happier, as they went in to the break leading 1-0.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Gabi Orange to make the kick off. Fynn John made a fantastic save in the 51st minute, when Gabi Orange sent off a good shot on target. An unexpectedly hard shot by Mauro Eate in the 52nd minute of play forced Atlético Mineiro's goalkeeper Fynn John to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Fynn John made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patrick Amaral in the 79th minute of play. Best Taffarel showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from André Luís Best in the 80th minute of the match. 95 minutes into the match, Muqui FC's goal looked a bit too open when Long Samast came free, but Best Taffarel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line.
