After 8 played minutes, Jataí's Nico Hülkenberg shot from a long distance, and at first it looked like the ball was going into the goal, but the goalkeeper Gil Paes came through and got his fingers on the ball before it flew over the goal line. He then quickly gripped the ball tighter before the forwards in Jataí reached it. 11 minutes into the match, Jataí's Eliseu Martins sent off a blazing shot straight on target, a shot that Gil Paes narrowly saved just below the crossbar. A collision led to Guaecá MZ getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Luisão Arce hit a great ball. Jataí's Osmar Rossi proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 25th minute of the match, managed to save Jataí from getting a goal against them. José Capixaba charged in rather forcefully in the 27th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed José Capixaba the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. After 26 minutes of play, the referee blew the whistle. It was a penalty for Guaecá MZ! The referee gave Jataí a penalty, 28 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Nico Hülkenberg, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Guaecá MZ's Gil Paes. 0-1. Nilmar Lira sent away a hard shot on goal in the 30th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Guaecá MZ's Károly Tóth got a good chance for a goal in the 39th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 41st minute, Károly Tóth got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Franciszek Serwach was extremely unlucky when he, in the 46th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. Osmar Rossi was out of position in the 46 minute of play, and Suárez Rado capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Suárez Rado really showed his touch with that goal: 1-1. After fighting hard for a draw in the first half, the players were able to take a much needed rest.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Eliseu Martins was the one to do the kick off. Osmar Rossi showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Suárez Rado in the 52nd minute of the match. Osmar Rossi came out of the goal in the 55th minute to try and stop a shot by Guaecá MZ's Károly Tóth. But to his dismay, Károly Tóth quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 3-1. Anísio de Alcântara's late challenge caught a Guaecá MZ's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Anísio de Alcântara helped the player get up and apologised. Guaecá MZ made a substitution. Dráuzio Montenegro replaced Christian Zanette. Anísio de Alcântara kicked well hit freekick during the 63rd minute of the match. After some careless play in the Jataí defense, Franciszek Serwach kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osmar Rossi. The Jataí fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osmar Rossi should have stopped the shot. In the 72nd minute, Franciszek Serwach made a precise shot to the right of Osmar Rossi. Jataí's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 5-1. Through an outstanding action, after 82 minutes, Gil Paes successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. In the 89th minute Rafa Gaúcho shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpected shot in the 92nd minute by Rafa Gaúcho got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. Leonel Perez hit a great freekick 93 minutes into the match. In the 97th minute Eliseu Martins shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gil Paes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Jataí's players left the field with heads hung low after losing a match that had been finely balanced throughout.
