Pedrinho Veloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Dário Travassos kicked a quick shot right in front of the goal in the 14thth minute. Though ot was a great shot Chafariz's keeper Pedrinho Veloso was sill able to block leaving the score board unchanged. Chafariz's Pedrinho Veloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 15th minute of the match, managed to save Chafariz from getting a goal against them. Pedrinho Veloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Carlos Alberto Araújo in the 16th minute. Carlos Alberto Araújo took the ball and in the 18 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Pedrinho Veloso. Pedrinho Veloso dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 3-0. Pedrinho Veloso made a fantastic save in the 20th minute, when Dário Travassos sent off a good shot on target. Chafariz's Pedrinho Veloso proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 22nd minute of the match, managed to save Chafariz from getting a goal against them. In the 23rd minute of the match, Zé Roberto Aguiar tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Pedrinho Veloso saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Dário Travassos could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 25th minute of the match, but Pedrinho Veloso made a huge save. The audience was convinced that Laerte Recife's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Tostão Alagoano was relentless in the 27th minute of the game. Pedrinho Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Roberto Aguiar in the 29th minute of play. In the 34thth minute of the game Laerte Recife who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Afligidos's Tostão Alagoano was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. After some fancy dribbling in the 36th minute, Zé Roberto Aguiar managed to get in a good position for a shot. Afligidos's supporters rose to their feet, but Zé Roberto Aguiar was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Pedrinho Veloso breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Pedrinho Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Carlos Alberto Araújo in the 43rd minute of the match. Pedrinho Veloso was a little too slow when Zé Roberto Aguiar got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 45th minute. The score was now 4-0. Chafariz's Bernard Filipkowski was substituted for Jardel Leão. No-one was surprised that the home team were leading 4-0 at half-time.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Laerte Recife to strike the kick off in the second half. When Laerte Recife came up free with the goalie in the 54th minute, the Chafariz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Laerte Recife couldn't finish the play. Tostão Alagoano showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Laerte Recife, who was totally free with the ball in the 61st minute. Chafariz's Pedrinho Veloso played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Carlos Alberto Araújo in the 67th minute of play. Laerte Recife could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 69th minute of the match, but Tostão Alagoano made a huge save. Pedrinho Veloso showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Dário Travassos in the 71st minute of the match. When Telmo Lago came up free with the goalie in the 72nd minute, the Chafariz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Telmo Lago couldn't finish the play. The audience was convinced that Zé Roberto Aguiar's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedrinho Veloso was relentless in the 75th minute of the game. Bernard Filipkowski made in the 77th minute of the game a throw-in that took a bad bounce and was taken care of by Afligidos's Vladimir Santana. 79 minutes into the match, Chafariz's goal looked a bit too open when Dário Travassos came free, but Pedrinho Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrinho Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Araújo, who was totally free with the ball in the 81st minute. In the 85th minute there was a penalty for Afligidos. Carlos Alberto Araújo stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Pedrinho Veloso. 6-0. Pedrinho Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Carlos Alberto Araújo in the 90th minute of play. 94 minutes into the match, Chafariz's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Roberto Aguiar came free, but Pedrinho Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. When the referee ended the match the Afligidos players were able to celebrate. They had won a fair victory and recieved the ovations of their fans.
