In the 5th minute, Jardel Leão hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After a defensive mix-up in Chafariz's zone, Jardel Britto stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Pedrinho Veloso came out of the goal and Jardel Britto tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 7 minutes into the match, Falcão Couto notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Clube Atlético Paraense's Eusébio Monteiro. Eusébio Monteiro was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Pedrinho Veloso was a little too slow when Valdemar Lima got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 11th minute. The score was now 1-1. Pedrinho Veloso didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Jardel Britto went, in the 14th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. With a little luck, Chafariz's Pedrinho Veloso got control of the ball when Jardel Britto tried to sneak it across the goal line. Pedrinho Veloso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Jardel Britto, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. With his leg Pedrinho Veloso managed to avoid a goal in the 25thth minute, when Clube Atlético Paraense's Tarcisio Pimenta fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. In the 29th minute, Chafariz's Jacinto Messias seemed to kick out at an opponent. The referee saw this and, surprisingly, showed Jacinto Messias the red card, dismissing him from the pitch. The coaching staff of Chafariz protested bitterly, but the referee would have none of it, and Jacinto Messias had no choice but to slowly walk off the pitch. The referee blew the whistle for a penalty in the 29th minute of the game. One of Chafariz:s players had nearly got his shirt torn off by an opponent while getting free in front of Clube Atlético Paraense:s goal. Chafariz:s Pedrinho Veloso showed great skill when he stopped Valdemar Lima:s penalty. 31 minutes into the game, Valdemar Lima cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 3-1. Pedrinho Veloso was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Pedrinho Veloso made an important save on a dangerous shot by José Novaes in the 34th minute. Pedrinho Veloso was a little too slow when José Novaes got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 34th minute. The score was now 4-1. Jardel Britto could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 38th minute of the match, but Pedrinho Veloso made a huge save. When Falcão Couto came up free with the goalie in the 42nd minute, the Chafariz fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Falcão Couto couldn't finish the play. 46 minutes into the match, Chafariz's goal looked a bit too open when Valdemar Lima came free, but Pedrinho Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Pedrinho Veloso made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jardel Britto in the 47th minute of play. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 4-1.

Chafariz made a substitution. Bernard Filipkowski replaced Jardel Leão. The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Rômulo Carvalho stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Falcão Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 53rd minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. 55 minutes into the game, Aureliusz Jestrimski was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Chafariz's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Clube Atlético Paraense the free kick. A collision led to Chafariz getting a freekick after 55 minutes play. Aureliusz Jestrimski hit a great ball. Tarcisio Pimenta received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 56th minute. Pedrinho Veloso tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Rômulo Carvalho could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 59th minute of the match, but Eusébio Monteiro made a huge save. After 65 minutes of play, Clube Atlético Paraense's Valdemar Lima made it 5-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedrinho Veloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! 69 minutes into the match, Clube Atlético Paraense's goalkeeper Eusébio Monteiro had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Rômulo Carvalho. Pedrinho Veloso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 6-1. After having played for 81 minutes, Alejandro Goycoa managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Clube Atlético Paraense's supporters crossed their fingers, but Alejandro Goycoa was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Pedrinho Veloso showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Jardel Britto, who was totally free with the ball in the 86th minute. If Rômulo Carvalho had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 91st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 95 minutes of play, Clube Atlético Paraense's Alejandro Goycoa made it 7-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Pedrinho Veloso was left in no man's land by his defense there! Clube Atlético Paraense's supporters were delighted with their team's performance and swarmed onto the pitch at the end of the match to celebrate the victory with the players.
