Hortêncio Mesquita could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 3rd minute of the match, but Osmar Rossi made a huge save. In the 5th minute, Rafa Gaúcho left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Jataí fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-1. 9 minutes into the match, Chafariz's goal looked a bit too open when Flavinho Loyola came free, but Pedrinho Veloso reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The audience was convinced that Eliseu Martins's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Pedrinho Veloso was relentless in the 13th minute of the game. In the 16th minute, Eliseu Martins ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Pedrinho Veloso was frozen by the shot and now it was 0-2. The supporters of Jataí booed when Chafariz was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Falcão Couto didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, Chafariz's Falcão Couto got a free kick in the 23rd minute. In the 25th minute, Hugo Almeida hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Falcão Couto hit a great freekick 26 minutes into the match. The Chafariz fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Pedrinho Veloso should have stopped the shot. Chafariz made a substitution. Bernard Filipkowski replaced Jardel Leão. Jataí made a substitution. José Paulo Senna replaced Eliseu Martins. Luck had favoured the away team in the first, and they walked off with a 0-5 lead.
Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Rômulo Carvalho to make the kick off. With a couple of smart ball manuevers José Paulo Senna in the 56th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Pedrinho Veloso saved Chafariz from getting behind. Jataí's Eliseu Saldanha quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bernard Filipkowski, made in the 58th minute of the game. With a little luck, Chafariz's Pedrinho Veloso got control of the ball when Flavinho Loyola tried to sneak it across the goal line. After a rather tough play, Chafariz's Aureliusz Jestrimski got a free kick in the 62nd minute. Pedrinho Veloso was out of position in the 65 minute of play, and Rafa Gaúcho capitalized on the mistake with a soft shot into the goal. Rafa Gaúcho really showed his touch with that goal: 0-7. José Paulo Senna scored 0-8 in the 68th match minute with a shot that went into the goal to the right of Pedrinho Veloso, who was just a little too slow in reacting to the shot. In the 71st minute, Telmo Lago hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 79 played minutes Chafariz got a freekick which was hit by Hugo Almeida. A hard shot by Nico Hülkenberg from long distance, 80 minutes into the match, got Pedrinho Veloso's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. An unexpectedly hard shot by Falcão Couto in the 82nd minute of play forced Jataí's goalkeeper Osmar Rossi to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Pedrinho Veloso came out of the goal in the 83rd minute to try and stop a shot by Jataí's Shen Fei Mo. But to his dismay, Shen Fei Mo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-10. When Shen Fei Mo came up free with the goalie in the 86th minute, the Jataí fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Shen Fei Mo couldn't finish the play. With his leg Pedrinho Veloso managed to avoid a goal in the 87thth minute, when Jataí's José Paulo Senna fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. After some careless play in the Jataí defense, Rômulo Carvalho kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Osmar Rossi. The Jataí fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Osmar Rossi should have stopped the shot. If Telmo Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 92nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. In the 97th minute, Falcão Couto made a precise shot to the right of Osmar Rossi. Jataí's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-10. When the final whistle sounded Jataí left the ground with the victory after a much better performance than Chafariz.
