Angelino Nueva took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Elder Ortiz, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Fabio Fillol stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Svali Bollason's shot from short distance in the 12th minute. Fabio Fillol stood somewhat misplaced when Svali Bollason came free in front of goal and shot 1-0 to the left of him in the 13 minute. The audience was convinced that Arlindo Xavier's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Angelino Nueva was relentless in the 16th minute of the game. Angelino Nueva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Arlindo Xavier, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. In the 28th minute Sebastien De Hont shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Angelino Nueva saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arlindo Xavier recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 40th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Žydrūnas Kšanavičius hit a great freekick 43 minutes into the match. Af the end of the first half the score was 1-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Svali Bollason made a kick off. The supporters of Paraná Clube booed when Reco-Reco Uberlândia was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 54 match minutes in a wonderful position. Svali Bollason didn't get a good kick on the ball. When Elder Ortiz came up free with the goalie in the 56th minute, the Paraná Clube fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Elder Ortiz couldn't finish the play. Angelino Nueva showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Sebastien De Hont, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Fabio Fillol made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Svali Bollason in the 62nd minute of play. Paraná Clube's Fabio Fillol played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Svali Bollason in the 66th minute of play. In the 68th minute Reco-Reco Uberlândia were awarded a corner. Gerardo Arce went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner led Reco-Reco Uberlândia's Gerardo Arce to fire away a dangerous shot which Fabio Fillol despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 71st minute Svali Bollason shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Fabio Fillol saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. 72 minutes had been played when some careless play by Paraná Clube's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Gerardo Arce was slow to take the kick. During this time Reco-Reco Uberlândia's players had a chance to rest. After having played for 76 minutes, Svali Bollason managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Reco-Reco Uberlândia's supporters crossed their fingers, but Svali Bollason was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. Gerardo Arce charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Gerardo Arce the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 85th match minute, Reco-Reco Uberlândia was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Gerardo Arce to maneuver through the defense. Sebastien De Hont struck a weak shot in the 85th minute. Angelino Nueva didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Paraná Clube. After some fancy dribbling in the 89th minute, Svali Bollason managed to get in a good position for a shot. Reco-Reco Uberlândia's supporters rose to their feet, but Svali Bollason was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Fabio Fillol breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Svali Bollason received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 90th minute. Fabio Fillol tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. A collision led to Reco-Reco Uberlândia getting a freekick after 95 minutes play. Leandro de Almeida hit a great ball. There was no doubt that Reco-Reco Uberlândia were the better team. Reco-Reco Uberlândia's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
