Tiago Gabriel Bertassi fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 16th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without José de Brito having to interfere. formigaz21's Nemesio Lopes proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 18th minute of the match, managed to save formigaz21 from getting a goal against them. After a defensive mix-up in formigaz21's zone, Lino Rezende stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Nemesio Lopes came out of the goal and Lino Rezende tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Mathias Madureiras short, quick shot in the 23rdth minute got Nemesio Lopes to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. In the 25th minute, Didi Almeida ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Nemesio Lopes was frozen by the shot and now it was 1-1. In the 28th minute, Lino Rezende got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. In the 30th minute Tiago Gabriel Bertassi shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but José de Brito saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. After 34 minutes of play, formigaz21's José Paulo Machado made it 1-2 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. José de Brito was left in no man's land by his defense there! In the 38thth minute of the game Luiz Paulo Ortiz who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Criciúma's José de Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The long shot by Luizão de Senna in the 39th minute really tested Nemesio Lopes's skills. The ball was on its way into the goal to the left of him when he managed to stretch himself and save the shot and avoid a goal. If Raí Vidal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 42nd minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Nemesio Lopes stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Mathias Madureira's shot from short distance in the 44th minute. Nemesio Lopes made an important save on a dangerous shot by Mathias Madureira in the 45th minute. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Mathias Madureira made a kick off.
