When the match had gone on for 7 minutes, Duarte dos Santos put it in 0-1 from a short distance just to the right of Laerte Brito. Acotea Futebol Clube's Laerte Brito played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Duarte dos Santos in the 12th minute of play. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Luís Fabiano Catarinense couldn't finish the play. The supporters of Acotea Futebol Clube booed when Brusque FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 39 match minutes in a wonderful position. Fabiano Contaldi didn't get a good kick on the ball. 42 minutes into the game, Zézinho Nunes was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Brusque FC's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Acotea Futebol Clube the free kick. Cristian Moreira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Luís Fabiano Catarinense, who was totally free with the ball in the 82nd minute. Chiquinho Vander took the ball and in the 84 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Cristian Moreira. Cristian Moreira dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 1-1. When Brusque FC's Duarte dos Santos in the 90th minute got a chance for a shot 90th didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie.
