The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. In the 2nd minute, Vladimir Dante hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Marcinho Madureira received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 4th minute. Laerte Brito tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Romeu Linares charged in rather forcefully in the 6th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Romeu Linares the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 6th minute, Romeu Linares hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. 9 minutes into the match, Giovani de Amaral notched a goal, 1-0, to the right of vitoria u17's Octavio Figueroa. Octavio Figueroa was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. After 13 minutes of play, vitoria u17's Edu Alves made it 1-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Laerte Brito was left in no man's land by his defense there! Octavio Figueroa didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from João Adolfo de Mendonça went, in the 17th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Giovani de Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 23rd minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Edu Alves in the 25th minute of play forced Acotea Futebol Clube's goalkeeper Laerte Brito to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Octavio Figueroa took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Luís Fabiano Catarinense, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After a rather tough play, vitoria u17's Romeu Linares got a free kick in the 29th minute. Laerte Brito came out of the goal in the 33rd minute to try and stop a shot by vitoria u17's Edu Alves. But to his dismay, Edu Alves quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-2. After 40 minutes, Giovani Sá mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the vitoria u17 and the Acotea Futebol Clube players grew even worse after the yellow card. The supporters of Acotea Futebol Clube booed when vitoria u17 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Giovani Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 44thth minute of the game Edu Alves who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Acotea Futebol Clube's Laerte Brito was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. The supporters of Acotea Futebol Clube booed when vitoria u17 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 47 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Chiquinho Vander to strike the kick off in the second half. Laerte Brito came out of the goal in the 54th minute to try and stop a shot by vitoria u17's Marcinho Madureira. But to his dismay, Marcinho Madureira quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 2-3. The supporters of Acotea Futebol Clube booed when vitoria u17 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 58 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luiz Fábio Abreu didn't get a good kick on the ball. After some careless play in the vitoria u17 defense, Giovani de Amaral kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Octavio Figueroa. Chiquinho Vander fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 67th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Octavio Figueroa having to interfere. With his leg Laerte Brito managed to avoid a goal in the 72ndth minute, when vitoria u17's Edu Alves fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Laerte Brito showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Valdomiro Zanette in the 74th minute of the match. Octavio Figueroa made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Chiquinho Vander in the 77th minute of play. vitoria u17's Octavio Figueroa played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Giovani de Amaral in the 78th minute of play. Octavio Figueroa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Chiquinho Vander, who was totally free with the ball in the 80th minute. After some careless play in the Acotea Futebol Clube defense, Marcinho Madureira kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Laerte Brito. The Acotea Futebol Clube fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Laerte Brito should have stopped the shot. Edu Alves might have been able to make a better finish in the 90th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Laerte Brito. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Edu Alves ran back to his position shaking his head. When Luís Fabiano Catarinense fell near the penalty area in the 93rd minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Acotea Futebol Clube's protests and gave Luís Fabiano Catarinense a yellow card for diving instead. The supporters of vitoria u17 booed when Acotea Futebol Clube was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 93 match minutes in a wonderful position. Luís Fabiano Catarinense didn't get a good kick on the ball. 97 minutes into the match, vitoria u17's goal looked a bit too open when Giovani de Amaral came free, but Octavio Figueroa reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. vitoria u17 were furious when Ionel Ioneasa was red carded, 97 minutes into the game, but the referee dismissed their protests. In the 98th minute, Ionel Ioneasa hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Luiz Guilherme de Godoi, 99 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. The vitoria u17 players were relieved to hear the final whistle blow to end the match. The away crowd was happy to see their team win after a very tight game.
