Pedrão Terra kicked well hit freekick during the 3rd minute of the match. In the 6th match minute, CUIABÁ EC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Sandrinho Fonseca to maneuver through the defense. Valer Zbuchea might have been able to make a better finish in the 7th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Vivaldo Carvalho. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Valer Zbuchea ran back to his position shaking his head. If Douglas Cabral had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 8th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Valer Zbuchea sent away a hard shot on goal in the 10th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After a defensive mix-up in CUIABÁ EC's zone, Epifanio Galtero stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vivaldo Carvalho came out of the goal and Epifanio Galtero tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. After 18 minutes, Valer Zbuchea made it 2-0 with a short kick to the right side. CUIABÁ EC's Vivaldo Carvalho tried to save the shot but he was too slow in reacting to the shot. Kléber Peres hit a great freekick 20 minutes into the match. Vivaldo Carvalho made an important save on a dangerous shot by Valer Zbuchea in the 24th minute. With an all-out effort, Ajax AFC's Vivaldo Carvalho threw himself towards the right post 25 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Davi Alvarenga, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. In the 26th minute, Douglas Cabral got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 28 minutes into the match, CUIABÁ EC's goal looked a bit too open when Valer Zbuchea came free, but Vivaldo Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ajax AFC's Valer Zbuchea managed to work through CUIABÁ EC's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Valer Zbuchea dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. In the 30th minute, Douglas Cabral ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vivaldo Carvalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 3-0. After a defensive mix-up in CUIABÁ EC's zone, Valer Zbuchea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vivaldo Carvalho came out of the goal and Valer Zbuchea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. When the match had gone on for 36 minutes, Valer Zbuchea took a quick shot and it went in 4-0 without a chance for Vivaldo Carvalho to make any attempt to save it. 41 minutes into the game, Epifanio Galtero cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 5-0. Vivaldo Carvalho was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. If Valer Zbuchea had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 44th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 5-0. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

Gilvan Porto kicked well hit freekick during the 50th minute of the match. Evaristo Urbano did an outstanding performance 53 minutes into the match, when he by himself got past the opposing team's defense and with a quick scored 6-0 to the right of an irritated Vivaldo Carvalho in the goal. The supporters of Ajax AFC booed when CUIABÁ EC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Kléber Peres didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a defensive mix-up in CUIABÁ EC's zone, Valer Zbuchea stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Vivaldo Carvalho came out of the goal and Valer Zbuchea tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. In the 62nd minute, Valer Zbuchea ran past the defenders and hit a shot which went straight ahead into goal. Vivaldo Carvalho was frozen by the shot and now it was 7-0. In the 67th minute, Davi Alvarenga made a precise shot to the right of Vivaldo Carvalho. CUIABÁ EC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 8-0. Valer Zbuchea recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 75th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Ajax AFC's Toninho Scherer got a free kick in the 78th minute. In a very dangerous position, a player in CUIABÁ EC fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 80th minute. Penalty! The Ajax AFC fans' excitement grew in the 86th match minute when Ajax AFC's Valer Zbuchea looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 10-0 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. 92 minutes into the match, CUIABÁ EC's goal looked a bit too open when Valer Zbuchea came free, but Vivaldo Carvalho reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Douglas Cabral received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 97th minute. Vivaldo Carvalho tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. There was no doubt that Ajax AFC were the better team. Ajax AFC's players enjoyed the ovations of the crowd after the victory.
