The supporters of Sao Paulo Leste FC booed when LaCity was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 14 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio Nunes didn't get a good kick on the ball. Tommy Jadis took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 15th minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Décio Tróia. LaCity's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Sao Paulo Leste FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Eriberto de Souza was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 2-0. Celsinho Cerezo took the ball and in the 35 minute, shot a rapid shot to the right of a surprised Décio Tróia. Décio Tróia dived to the right, and did manage to get a hand on the shot, but it still went into the right corner making it 2-1. 37 minutes into the match, LaCity's goal looked a bit too open when Falcão Moura came free, but Décio Tróia reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. LaCity's Décio Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falcão Moura in the 39th minute of play. Hamílton de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Célio Nunes in the 44th minute of play. In the 45th match minute, Sao Paulo Leste FC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Claudinei Nunes to maneuver through the defense. When Hílton Amaral fell near the penalty area in the 46th minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored LaCity's protests and gave Hílton Amaral a yellow card for diving instead. Hílton Amaral kicked well hit freekick during the 47th minute of the match.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Celsinho Cerezo made a kick off. Hamílton de Lara took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Eriberto de Souza, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. LaCity were awarded a corner in the 57th minute after Sao Paulo Leste FC's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Harry Kaptein took the corner. Tarcisio Campidelis tried to clear up in front of the goal, but didn't succeed and rather the ball rolled into the own goal to the right of a despaired Hamílton de Lara. An unnecessary self made goal, 3-1 in the 58th minute. Hamílton de Lara made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Eriberto de Souza in the 63rd minute of play. Eriberto de Souza might have been able to make a better finish in the 64th minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Hamílton de Lara. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Eriberto de Souza ran back to his position shaking his head. An unexpectedly hard shot by Eriberto de Souza in the 64th minute of play forced Sao Paulo Leste FC's goalkeeper Hamílton de Lara to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Décio Tróia took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Noel Sena, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. LaCity's Joakim Vestberg was substituted for Ediberto Falcão. LaCity's Hermínio Siqueira was substituted for Hílton Amaral. LaCity's Leonel Dracena was substituted for Ian Torres. Sao Paulo Leste FC's Gernando Netto was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Décio Tróia in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. Falcão Moura received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Décio Tróia came out and tried to block the shot, but Falcão Moura slotted it home off the left post making it 3-2 in the 74th minute. Hamílton de Lara showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Célio Nunes, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute. LaCity's Décio Tróia played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Falcão Moura in the 82nd minute of play. After 83 played minutes Sao Paulo Leste FC got a freekick which was hit by Noel Sena. Décio Tróia made a fantastic save in the 84th minute, when Celsinho Cerezo sent off a good shot on target. In the 86thth minute of the game Celsinho Cerezo who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but LaCity's Décio Tróia was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. LaCity's supporters were highly satisfied with the result. They cheered their team of the pitch, having watched them win a very even match.
