The Rio Bonito do Iguaçu fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Geraldo Pitta should have stopped the shot. Joélson Paulista was extremely unlucky when he, in the 30th minute, took a shot that hit the right post and went out. In the 65th minute, Joélson Paulista got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Orlando Fontes in the 69th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Geraldo Pitta prevented the ball from getting in the gole. Squadra Campeira's Joélson Paulista got a good chance for a goal in the 72nd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. In the 75th minute, Bernardinho Hoffmann hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. If Joélson Paulista had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 77th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Geraldo Pitta showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Joélson Paulista, who was totally free with the ball in the 79th minute.
