AllBlack:s Iordache Ciupe showed great skill when he stopped Luiz Fabiano Goiano:s penalty. A collision led to AllBlack getting a freekick after 18 minutes play. Raí Santana hit a great ball. Iordache Ciupe didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Pedro Rocha went, in the 19th minute, to the upper right corner, 0-2 was the resulting score. An unexpectedly hard shot by Pedro Rocha in the 22nd minute of play forced AllBlack's goalkeeper Iordache Ciupe to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Benjamin Guerra made in the 25th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Raí Santana immediately put the ball in play. Fernando Sotomayor could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 26th minute of the match, but João Adolfo Esteves made a huge save. Pedro Rocha's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Iordache Ciupe read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 27th minute of play. Iordache Ciupe had in the 43rdth minute some difficulties stopping Luiz Fabiano Goiano's well aimed penalty as it nearly passed him on his left side, but he still managed to hold the ball. Fernando Sotomayor struck a weak shot in the 45th minute. João Adolfo Esteves didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for AllBlack. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.
