In the 9th minute of the match Xanda FC got a corner. Vermelho 23's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Umberto Martins ran over to the corner to take the kick. 10 minutes into the match, Vermelho 23's goal looked a bit too open when Luiz Fernando Arce came free, but Raimundo Prestes reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Raimundo Prestes showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Matías Guedes in the 13th minute of the match. A nice corner shot did that Umberto Martins got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Raimundo Prestes quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Ian Melo made an important save on a dangerous shot by Adrianinho Cruz in the 17th minute. Zé Carlos Duarte received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Ian Melo came out and tried to block the shot, but Zé Carlos Duarte slotted it home off the left post making it 1-0 in the 18th minute. 22 minutes into the game, Xanda FC's Norberto da Silva nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Raimundo Prestes made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 1-1. In the 29th minute Renan Paes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Raimundo Prestes saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. In the 34th minute, Umberto Martins hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. In the 36th minute Vermelho 23 were awarded a corner. Adrianinho Cruz went to the cornerflag to take it. After taking down the ball on Vermelho 23's corner Adrianinho Cruz fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Ian Melo quite easily take care of the ball. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-1.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Norberto da Silva was the one to do the kick off. 56 minutes into the match, Vermelho 23's goalkeeper Raimundo Prestes had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Renan Paes. Xanda FC were awarded a corner in the 59th minute after Vermelho 23's defender lost control of the ball, allowing it to roll out over the line. Umberto Martins took the corner. The corner led Xanda FC's Umberto Martins to fire away a dangerous shot which Raimundo Prestes despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. Ian Melo showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Rubens Sanches, who was totally free with the ball in the 65th minute. Jânio Baptista hit a great freekick 66 minutes into the match. In the 70th minute, Umberto Martins got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 73 minutes into the match, Xanda FC's goal looked a bit too open when Zé Carlos Duarte came free, but Ian Melo reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Diogo da Rocha charged in rather forcefully in the 84th minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Diogo da Rocha the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. The referee gave Vermelho 23 a penalty, 86 minutes into the game. The penalty shot was made by Adrianinho Cruz, who made a well placed shot into the net to the right of Xanda FC's Ian Melo. 3-1. An unexpectedly hard shot by Adrianinho Cruz in the 91st minute of play forced Xanda FC's goalkeeper Ian Melo to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Ian Melo took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Horácio Goiano, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 95 minutes, Rubens Sanches mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Vermelho 23 and the Xanda FC players grew even worse after the yellow card. In the 95th match minute, Vermelho 23 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Rubens Sanches to maneuver through the defense. Maicon Aguiar was astounded when the referee showed him the red card after a seemingly innocent challenge, 96 minutes into the match. A collision led to Xanda FC getting a freekick after 97 minutes play. Maicon Aguiar hit a great ball. Vermelho 23 were really happy, having secured the victory after a very even contest. They thanked the players of Xanda FC for a fine match.
