With a little luck, Florão da América's Gwidon Juchno got control of the ball when Helge Almkvist tried to sneak it across the goal line. If Guilherme de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 13th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 16 minutes into the match, Florão da América's goalkeeper Gwidon Juchno had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Osvaldinho Vergílio. After a defensive mix-up in Palmeiras de Plantão's zone, Dragolyub Chavdarov stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. With an all-out effort, Palmeiras de Plantão's Gwidon Juchno threw himself towards the right post 24 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Nestor Paulista, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Cido Meireles didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Florão da América. In the 39th minute, Helge Almkvist made a precise shot to the right of Gwidon Juchno. Florão da América's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 2-1. Gwidon Juchno made a fantastic save in the 43rd minute, when Helge Almkvist sent off a good shot on target. If Dragolyub Chavdarov had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 46th minute. The ball went over the crossbar instead. Af the end of the first half the score was 2-1. The first half had gone as expected for the home team.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Zézinho Paraíba made a kick off.
