Fernando da Mata was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Fernando da Mata stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Glauco Araújo's shot from short distance in the 16th minute. After 17 minutes, Luís Fabiano Secco mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the SHIRO F.C. and the Botafogo players grew even worse after the yellow card. Manoel Lago made a fantastic save in the 19th minute, when Alan Ortiz sent off a good shot on target. After 25 minutes SHIRO F.C.'s defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Rodrigo Sanches who took care of the corner kick. Rodrigo Sanches succeeded in the game's 25th minute to get real power on a long shot . SHIRO F.C.'s Fernando da Mata hadn't the time to block the shot which was pasted into the goal, 0-2! Hernani Sarmento might have been able to make a better finish in the 32nd minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Manoel Lago. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Hernani Sarmento ran back to his position shaking his head. 龚松川 struck a weak shot in the 35th minute. Fernando da Mata didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Botafogo. After a rather tough play, SHIRO F.C.'s Dagoberto Brasil got a free kick in the 36th minute. The supporters of Botafogo booed when SHIRO F.C. was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 40 match minutes in a wonderful position. Alan Ortiz didn't get a good kick on the ball. Fernando da Mata came out of the goal in the 44th minute to try and stop a shot by Botafogo's Glauco Araújo. But to his dismay, Glauco Araújo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 1-3.

After 52 minutes of play, SHIRO F.C.'s Dagoberto Brasil made it 2-3 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Manoel Lago was left in no man's land by his defense there! Júlio Tepedino kicked well hit freekick during the 54th minute of the match. 58 minutes into the match, SHIRO F.C.'s goal looked a bit too open when Zézinho Marquez came free, but Fernando da Mata reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. With a little luck, SHIRO F.C.'s Fernando da Mata got control of the ball when 龚松川 tried to sneak it across the goal line. 69 minutes into the match, Botafogo's goal looked a bit too open when Hernani Sarmento came free, but Manoel Lago reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. In the 70th minute of the match, Siro Santos tried to roll the ball into the goal by the right post, but Fernando da Mata saw his intentions and got control of the ball before it passed the line. Fernando da Mata showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Glauco Araújo in the 79th minute of the match. 龚松川 could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 81st minute of the match, but Fernando da Mata made a huge save. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Glauco Araújo in the 88th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Fernando da Mata prevented the ball from getting in the gole. In the 93rd minute, Hernani Sarmento got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal.
