Internacional Paulista's Arlindo do Vale played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Johnny Babylon in the 11th minute of play. A collision led to Internacional Paulista getting a freekick after 11 minutes play. Dudu de Medeiros hit a great ball. Sixto Mitxaut's late challenge caught a A.C.Mandala's player on the shin and left him crawling around in pain. The referee blew his whistle and produced the yellow card. Sixto Mitxaut helped the player get up and apologised. After a rather tough play, Internacional Paulista's Sixto Mitxaut got a free kick in the 17th minute. The supporters of Internacional Paulista booed when A.C.Mandala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 18 match minutes in a wonderful position. Igor Maranhense didn't get a good kick on the ball. Arlindo do Vale made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Tomas Gustavsson in the 20th minute of play. Johnny Babylon received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal.
