Giorgi Mamardashvili took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Zé Paulo Pombal, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Eguen Armesto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laércio Torres in the 11th minute of the match. Laércio Torres sent away a hard shot on goal in the 13th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. In the 13th minute Laércio Torres shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Eguen Armesto saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Tenho Bolas during the 16th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. A collision led to Akira アキラ getting a freekick after 16 minutes play. Tenho Bolas hit a great ball. A hard shot by Tiago Esteves from long distance, 17 minutes into the match, got Giorgi Mamardashvili's attention. Through a fast twist with his body, he could stop the ball from going in on his right side. In the 20th minute the ball was on its way in behind Cruzeiro RS's goalkeeper Eguen Armesto, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Eguen Armesto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Laércio Torres in the 27th minute of the match. Giorgi Mamardashvili showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from João Augusto Vides, who was totally free with the ball in the 28th minute. The supporters of Akira アキラ booed when Cruzeiro RS was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 33 match minutes in a wonderful position. Rodriguinho Hoffmann didn't get a good kick on the ball. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Zé Paulo Pombal to strike the kick off in the second half. In the 54th minute Sílvio Lucas shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Giorgi Mamardashvili saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. The audience thought a goal was coming when Laércio Torres got free with Eguen Armesto in the 58th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 59th minute of the match Akira アキラ got a corner. Cruzeiro RS's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Eugênio Teles ran over to the corner to take the kick. Eugênio Teles made a great header on Akira アキラ's corner, it was just that Cruzeiro RS's Eguen Armesto managed to reach the ball for a save. 62 minutes into the match, Zé Paulo Pombal notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Akira アキラ's Giorgi Mamardashvili. An unexpectedly hard shot by Laércio Torres in the 82nd minute of play forced Cruzeiro RS's goalkeeper Eguen Armesto to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Giorgi Mamardashvili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sílvio Lucas in the 84th minute of play. Cruzeiro RS's Eguen Armesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Liu Zhi Guang in the 89th minute of play. Laércio Torres recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 90th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro RS's Oséas Tasso got a free kick in the 91st minute. Giorgi Mamardashvili made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Pombal in the 95th minute of play. Cruzeiro RS's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
