Luís Paulo Barbosa was slow to take the kick. During this time BRASIL.Sp's players had a chance to rest. The corner went over the outstretched arms of Club Athletico Paranaense's goalie and right to Oséias de Amaral. He fired away a shot at goal, but the shot had too much spin, and it went just outside the goal. Club Athletico Paranaense's manager breathed a sigh of relief on the sidelines as his team had managed to escape an almost certain goal. After some fancy dribbling in the 6th minute, Luís Paulo Barbosa managed to get in a good position for a shot. BRASIL.Sp's supporters rose to their feet, but Luís Paulo Barbosa was a bit off balance and shot the ball just wide of the left post. Robustiano Seme breathed a sigh of relief and went to take the goal kick. Cido Cardozo recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 12th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. The referee was alert and spotted a serious foul by Gino Couto during the 14th minute. The player immediately received a yellow card. After a rather tough play, BRASIL.Sp's Gino Couto got a free kick in the 15th minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Cido Cardozo in the 24th minute of play forced Club Athletico Paranaense's goalkeeper Robustiano Seme to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Club Athletico Paranaense's Robustiano Seme played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cido Cardozo in the 27th minute of play. After 28 minutes, Jaime Furtado mouthed his way into the referee's book. The tension between the Club Athletico Paranaense and the BRASIL.Sp players grew even worse after the yellow card. A collision led to Club Athletico Paranaense getting a freekick after 28 minutes play. Jaime Furtado hit a great ball. 29 minutes into the game, Alexandre Xavier was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Club Athletico Paranaense's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave BRASIL.Sp the free kick. In a very dangerous position, a player in Club Athletico Paranaense fell when an opponent tried to get the ball from him in the 29th minute. Penalty! Luís Paulo Barbosa walked up to take care of the penalty kick. He was aiming for the top corner, but the ball went just outside the post. In the 38th minute, Moisés Linhares got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. 39 minutes into the match, Cido Cardozo notched a goal, 0-1, to the right of Club Athletico Paranaense's Robustiano Seme. Robustiano Seme was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. Robustiano Seme showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Hílton Linares in the 44th minute of the match. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gino Couto in the 49th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Robustiano Seme prevented the ball from getting in the gole.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Cido Cardozo to make the kick off. Robustiano Seme made an important save on a dangerous shot by Gino Couto in the 52nd minute. After a rather tough play, Club Athletico Paranaense's Alexandre Xavier got a free kick in the 57th minute. Alexandre Xavier kicked well hit freekick during the 58th minute of the match. 63 minutes into the match, Club Athletico Paranaense's goal looked a bit too open when João Adolfo Trevisan came free, but Robustiano Seme reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. The supporters of BRASIL.Sp booed when Club Athletico Paranaense was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 69 match minutes in a wonderful position. Jaime Furtado didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 70th match minute, Club Athletico Paranaense was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Jaime Furtado to maneuver through the defense. Cauã Loyola could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 74th minute of the match, but Robustiano Seme made a huge save. After 78 played minutes BRASIL.Sp got a freekick which was hit by João Adolfo Trevisan. Robustiano Seme took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from João Adolfo Trevisan, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. After 82 played minutes BRASIL.Sp got a freekick which was hit by Hílton Linares. Denílson Corrêa took a chance and fired a shot far from the goal in the 82nd minute, but it turned out to be a dangerous situation for Hortêncio Berger. BRASIL.Sp's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. After a defensive mix-up in BRASIL.Sp's zone, Sidney de Salles stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Hortêncio Berger came out of the goal and Sidney de Salles tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. The audience thought a goal was coming when Cauã Loyola got free with Robustiano Seme in the 95th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. BRASIL.Sp's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
