In the 2nd match minute, BRASIL.Sp was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Oséias de Amaral to maneuver through the defense. Anselmo Koehler charged in rather forcefully in the 3rd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Anselmo Koehler the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. In the 4th minute, Anselmo Koehler hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. After 7 played minutes Cruzeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Anselmo Koehler. A collision led to BRASIL.Sp getting a freekick after 9 minutes play. Cido Cardozo hit a great ball. After 19 played minutes Cruzeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Amauri Ribeiro. The Cruzeiro RS fans' excitement grew in the 22nd match minute when Cruzeiro RS's Zé Leal looked to have a clear shot with the ball near the goal. The shot wasn't hard, but the ball still rolled over the goal line to make it 0-1 before the goalkeeper had a chance to intervene. Gino Couto received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 25th minute. Eguen Armesto tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. Eguen Armesto made a fantastic save in the 28th minute, when Cido Cardozo sent off a good shot on target. After 35 played minutes BRASIL.Sp got a freekick which was hit by Cido Cardozo. After a rather tough play, Cruzeiro RS's Tiago Esteves got a free kick in the 36th minute. Cido Cardozo fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 38th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Eguen Armesto having to interfere. Eguen Armesto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cido Cardozo, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 47th minute, Cruzeiro RS's goalie took a deep sigh of relief after Gino Couto fired away a hard shot that went just outside the left post. After the first half Cruzeiro RS were leading 0-1. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Cido Cardozo stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Eguen Armesto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Gino Couto went, in the 51st minute, to the upper right corner, 1-1 was the resulting score. Gino Couto sent away a hard shot on goal in the 59th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. Eguen Armesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Cido Cardozo, who was totally free with the ball in the 60th minute. Olívio Mazza charged in rather forcefully in the 62nd minute of the match, and managed to knock his opponent down. The referee showed Olívio Mazza the yellow card, and asked the players to shake hands before continuing play. Olívio Mazza kicked well hit freekick during the 62nd minute of the match. Cruzeiro RS's João Augusto Vides was substituted for Oséas Tasso. Eguen Armesto showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Gino Couto, who was totally free with the ball in the 64th minute. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Gino Couto in the 66th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Eguen Armesto prevented the ball from getting in the gole. If Zé Leal had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 67th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Eguen Armesto didn't have a chance when a screaming shot from Cido Cardozo went, in the 74th minute, to the upper right corner, 2-1 was the resulting score. Cruzeiro RS's Eguen Armesto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cido Cardozo in the 79th minute of play. After taking down the ball on BRASIL.Sp's corner Luís Paulo Barbosa fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Eguen Armesto quite easily take care of the ball. When Cido Cardozo came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the BRASIL.Sp fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Cido Cardozo couldn't finish the play. After 89 played minutes Cruzeiro RS got a freekick which was hit by Tiago Esteves. 94 minutes into the game, Cauã Loyola cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 4-1. Eguen Armesto was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. The referee blew his whistle, and the match came to a close. The players exchanged shirts and headed down the tunnel. The BRASIL.Sp fans cheered their team off the field, for while Cruzeiro RS had put up a good fight, they were unable to come out of the game with any points to show for their effort.
