With his leg Su Xiang Chuan managed to avoid a goal in the 9thth minute, when Cruzeiro RS's Zé Leal fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. Zé Leal had several of the A.C.Mandala's defenders around him in the penalty area when he, after 9 minutes of play, received a pass and succeeded in some way to shoot a shot which went straight ahead into goal. This resulted in a 1-0 score and a disappointed Su Xiang Chuan as he didn't even see the shot coming. 12 minutes into the match, Dorival Leão had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Eguen Armesto. Cruzeiro RS's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Dorival Leão was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 1-1. In the 16th minute, Giuseppe Correia made a precise shot to the right of Eguen Armesto. Cruzeiro RS's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 1-2. The supporters of Cruzeiro RS booed when A.C.Mandala was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 22 match minutes in a wonderful position. Johnny Babylon didn't get a good kick on the ball. After a rather tough play, A.C.Mandala's Köksal Üstay got a free kick in the 43rd minute. In the 45thth minute of the game Zé Paulo Pombal who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but A.C.Mandala's Su Xiang Chuan was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. Su Xiang Chuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Zé Paulo Pombal in the 47th minute of play. After the first half A.C.Mandala were leading 1-3. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Johnny Babylon stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. In the 53rd minute, Oséas Tasso hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Eguen Armesto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Johnny Babylon showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-4 in the 54 minute of play. Dorival Leão sent away a hard shot on goal in the 57th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Zé Paulo Pombal in the 86th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Su Xiang Chuan saved A.C.Mandala from getting behind. 89 minutes into the match, Cruzeiro RS's goal looked a bit too open when Johnny Babylon came free, but Eguen Armesto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Su Xiang Chuan made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Fred de Barros in the 91st minute of play. Eguen Armesto was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Giuseppe Correia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 1-6 in the 92 minute of play. A.C.Mandala's supporters were very happy and cheered loudly because their team had won after a very close match.
