After 14 played minutes Negrão Fogo FC got a freekick which was hit by Aadolf Aðalmundsson. In the 14th minute, Claudinei Lucas made a precise shot to the right of Carlos Eduardo Secco. Negrão Fogo FC's defense was at fault, and the scoreboard reflected the new score, 0-2. Carlos Eduardo Secco showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Claudinei Lucas in the 20th minute of the match. When Clóvis Maranhense fell near the penalty area in the 21st minute he thought he would be awarded a free kick. The referee ignored Negrão Fogo FC's protests and gave Clóvis Maranhense a yellow card for diving instead. After 21 played minutes Negrão Fogo FC got a freekick which was hit by Clóvis Maranhense. Abdelnacer Zarabi recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 22nd minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Carlos Eduardo Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Claudinei Lucas, who was totally free with the ball in the 23rd minute. An unexpectedly hard shot by Claudinei Lucas in the 26th minute of play forced Negrão Fogo FC's goalkeeper Carlos Eduardo Secco to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. In the 28thth minute of the game Claudinei Lucas who was perfectly placed tried to make a shot on goal, but Negrão Fogo FC's Carlos Eduardo Secco was lucky and managed to grab hold of the ball. When the match clock showed 28 minutes, the score became 0-4 when Claudinei Lucas sped through Negrão Fogo FC's defense and sent away a curving shot that went into the net to the right of Carlos Eduardo Secco. Carlos Eduardo Secco showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Esteban Ruy, who was totally free with the ball in the 41st minute. 42 minutes into the game, Ciccio Biagetti cracked a shot to the right of the goalkeeper, 0-7. Carlos Eduardo Secco was not in position, and could only watch the ball fly in. Carlos Eduardo Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Claudinei Lucas in the 48th minute of play. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-7.

The players of the home team were most fresh-looking when they entered the field to play the second half. Hamílton Lopes was the one to do the kick off. The Negrão Fogo FC fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Carlos Eduardo Secco should have stopped the shot. 63 minutes into the match, Claudinei Lucas had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Carlos Eduardo Secco. Negrão Fogo FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Claudinei Lucas was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-11. FC Catalunha's Celso Cardozo was substituted for Bruninho de Almeida. With a little luck, Negrão Fogo FC's Carlos Eduardo Secco got control of the ball when Claudinei Lucas tried to sneak it across the goal line. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Abdelnacer Zarabi in the 74th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Carlos Eduardo Secco saved Negrão Fogo FC from getting behind. Carlos Eduardo Secco made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Ciccio Biagetti in the 75th minute of play. The crowd rose to their feet as Abdelnacer Zarabi kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Carlos Eduardo Secco. That made the score 0-12 in the 77 minute of play. Negrão Fogo FC's Carlos Eduardo Secco played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Anderson Seco in the 80th minute of play. Claudinei Lucass short, quick shot in the 82ndth minute got Carlos Eduardo Secco to make great effort and bar the ball away from getting in. FC Catalunha's Claudinei Lucas was standing unmarked in front of the goal when he, in the 83rd play minute, got the ball and easily drilled it into the goal. From close distance Claudinei Lucas pressed in the 0-14 goal high up into nets stiches in the right cross 88 minutes into the game. 0-16 became the score in the 95th minute when Abdelnacer Zarabi elegantly shot the ball into goal just under the crossbar. The Negrão Fogo FC fans had already started to leave before the final whistle blew. FC Catalunha were clearly better and deserved to take the win.
