The crowd had been anticipating this game for weeks and the excitement in the stadium was easily visible. An unexpected shot in the 3rd minute by Inácio Lago got the crowd on their feet, but to their dismay it went out on the left side. In the 5th minute, one of Pragmáticos 1903:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Pragmáticos 1903. In the 6th minute there was a penalty for SC Conceição. Cristian Nevares stepped forward and shot the ball to the right of a diving Zé Carlos Britto. 1-0. Inácio Lago received a nice pass, split the defenders, and ran untouched towards the goal. Zé Carlos Britto came out and tried to block the shot, but Inácio Lago slotted it home off the left post making it 2-0 in the 10th minute. Zé Carlos Britto showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Zacarías Batistuta in the 14th minute of the match. The crowd rose to their feet as Inácio Lago kicked a wonderful shot that went in to the left of a diving Zé Carlos Britto. That made the score 3-0 in the 19 minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Deivid Vergílio in the 24th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Flávio Terra saved SC Conceição from getting behind. Inácio Lago kicked well hit freekick during the 26th minute of the match. Zacarías Batistuta might have been able to make a better finish in the 31st minute when he tried to place a hard shot over Zé Carlos Britto. Instead the ball went over the crossbar and out. Zacarías Batistuta ran back to his position shaking his head. Zé Carlos Britto made an important save on a dangerous shot by Zacarías Batistuta in the 31st minute. After a defensive mix-up in Pragmáticos 1903's zone, Inácio Lago stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Zé Carlos Britto came out of the goal and Inácio Lago tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. 38 minutes into the match, Inácio Lago notched a goal, 4-0, to the right of Pragmáticos 1903's Zé Carlos Britto. Zé Carlos Britto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Inácio Lago in the 45th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Zé Carlos Britto saved Pragmáticos 1903 from getting behind. Deivid Vergílio's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Flávio Terra read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 46th minute of play. The home fans were very happy to see their team leading 5-0 at half-time.

The wind increased when Deivid Vergílio made the kick off in the second half. 51 minutes into the match, Cristian Nevares notched a goal, 6-0, to the right of Pragmáticos 1903's Zé Carlos Britto. Zé Carlos Britto was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. The audience was convinced that Inácio Lago's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Zé Carlos Britto was relentless in the 54th minute of the game. A throw-in in the 56th minute of the game was made by Delfim de Lara with Tião Maia as target, who quickly passed the ball forward. Tadeu do Nascimento recieved an excellent pass in front of the goal in the 57th minute. Unfortunately, he received the ball on his off foot and could only manage a weak shot that went over the goal. Inácio Lago blasted a shot towards the goal in the 59th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Zé Carlos Britto having to make a save. 59 minutes into the match, Pragmáticos 1903's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Lago came free, but Zé Carlos Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Delfim de Lara got a throw-in 61 minutes in the game and the ball was received by Tião Maia. Through an outstanding action, after 63 minutes, Flávio Terra successfully got his hands on the ball before it slid into the goal at the right post. The supporters of SC Conceição booed when Pragmáticos 1903 was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 66 match minutes in a wonderful position. Caio Barreto didn't get a good kick on the ball. Zé Carlos Britto took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Cristian Nevares, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 69th match minute, Pragmáticos 1903 was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Delfim de Lara to maneuver through the defense. SC Conceição's Inácio Lago got a good chance for a goal in the 75th minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. If Inácio Lago had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 81st minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. 83 minutes into the match, Pragmáticos 1903's goal looked a bit too open when Inácio Lago came free, but Zé Carlos Britto reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Inácio Lago's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Zé Carlos Britto read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 85th minute of play. Pragmáticos 1903's Zé Carlos Britto played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Cristian Nevares in the 87th minute of play. SC Conceição's fans were exulted and cheered after their team won in a match that could easily have gone the other way.
