Diamante Negro DK - VV's Rogério Ceni played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Niceto Ihazintu in the 17th minute of play. In the 20th match minute, Caatiba MZC was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Ezequiel Nunes to maneuver through the defense. Ergo Muro made an important save on a dangerous shot by Vinícius Servaes in the 34th minute. After 35 played minutes Diamante Negro DK - VV got a freekick which was hit by Christian Antonelli. When Caatiba MZC's Niceto Ihazintu in 36 game minutes managed to cut through with the ball in front of the goal, only having to shoot. Rogério Ceni guarding the goal like a pit bull was extremely focused and managed to reach the ball just by the crossbar before it went in. Niceto Ihazintu sent away a hard shot on goal in the 40th minute, but the ball hit the crossbar and went out. A very good chance for a goal. Rogério Ceni made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Niceto Ihazintu in the 40th minute of play. Samuca de Sena hit a great freekick 41 minutes into the match. Natã Siqueira hit a great freekick 45 minutes into the match. In the 47th minute Diamante Negro DK - VV were awarded a corner. Marcos Cruz went to the cornerflag to take it. The corner ended in Marcos Cruz almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but Caatiba MZC's Ergo Muro did a great save. After the first half the score was level. The break gave the players a chance to catch their breath, whilst the managers went over the tactics with them again.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Vinícius Servaes to make the kick off. Diamante Negro DK - VV's Rogério Ceni proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 53rd minute of the match, managed to save Diamante Negro DK - VV from getting a goal against them. In the 54th minute of the match Caatiba MZC got a corner. Diamante Negro DK - VV's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Gaby Milito ran over to the corner to take the kick. Rodriguinho Linhares was in a good position and managed to take a shot, but he missed just to the outside of the post. In the 57th minute Vinícius Servaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ergo Muro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Ergo Muro made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Vinícius Servaes in the 57th minute of play. The supporters of Caatiba MZC booed when Diamante Negro DK - VV was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 62 match minutes in a wonderful position. Sidney de Queirós didn't get a good kick on the ball. Niceto Ihazintu came free with the goalkeeper in the 74th minute of the match, and shot straight on target. The shot was a little too simple and Rogério Ceni could save by the left post. In the 75th minute the ball was on its way in behind Caatiba MZC's goalkeeper Ergo Muro, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Caatiba MZC's Nuno Mattos was substituted for Niceto Ihazintu. Rogério Ceni was a little too slow when Nuno Mattos got a fine hit on the ball which went right into the goal in the 84th minute. The score was now 1-1. After 87 played minutes Caatiba MZC got a freekick which was hit by Neville Garner. Marcos Cruz, 88 minutes into the match, dribbled the ball up the side of the field and decided to take a long shot at the goal. Unfortunately, the ball was poorly hit and landed closer to the corner than to the goal. A collision led to Caatiba MZC getting a freekick after 90 minutes play. Samuca de Sena hit a great ball. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Nuno Mattos in the 93rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Rogério Ceni saved Diamante Negro DK - VV from getting behind. In the 95th minute Vinícius Servaes shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Ergo Muro saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Both teams had looked equal from kick-off, and no-one was surprised when the match finally ended in a draw.
