In the 7th minute Ciro Elija shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Manúel Bento saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Lico Catarinense in the 12th minute of play forced Chelsicha's goalkeeper Caetano da Silveira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. 16 minutes into the match, Dogelo's goal looked a bit too open when Bebeto Maia came free, but Manúel Bento reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Ciro Elija blasted a shot towards the goal in the 18th minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Manúel Bento having to make a save. Dogelo's Manúel Bento played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Ciro Elija in the 40th minute of play. 41 minutes had been played when some careless play by Dogelo's defense caused the ball to cross the line for a corner. Mel Speerschneider was slow to take the kick. During this time Chelsicha's players had a chance to rest. The corner led Chelsicha's Mel Speerschneider to fire away a dangerous shot which Manúel Bento despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. In the 42nd minute, Sebastián Verón hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Ciro Elija sent away a hard shot on goal in the 43rd minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. After 47 played minutes Dogelo got a freekick which was hit by Bruno Israel.

When the second half was about to start, both teams quickly lined up and Ciro Elija made a kick off. Chelsicha's Serginho Chulapa quite brazenly broke a throw-in by Bruno Israel, made in the 53rd minute of the game. Ciro Elija struck a weak shot in the 56th minute. Manúel Bento didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Chelsicha. Caetano da Silveira showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Oliverios Marcilla, who was totally free with the ball in the 67th minute. After some careless play in the Dogelo defense, Rodrigo Félix kicked a shot that curved into the net to the right of Manúel Bento. The Dogelo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manúel Bento should have stopped the shot. The Dogelo fans voiced their displeasure as they felt that Manúel Bento should have stopped the shot. Chelsicha played a much better game than Dogelo and deserved their victory. The Dogelo players were clearly disappointed as they left the ground.
