Luís Fernando Almeida showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Rogério Saldanha in the 14th minute of the match. An unexpectedly hard shot by Rogério Saldanha in the 19th minute of play forced Febre Amarela's goalkeeper Luís Fernando Almeida to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The supporters of Várzea F.C. booed when Febre Amarela was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 25 match minutes in a wonderful position. Célio da Cunha didn't get a good kick on the ball. Luís Fernando Almeida made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Jude Monkhouse in the 26th minute of play. If Adil Vavasseur had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 29th minute. After a defensive mix-up in Febre Amarela's zone, Anderson Paiva stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. The score stood at 1-1 when the half time whistle went. Both sets of players seemed reasonably pleased with how the match was going.

The Febre Amarela support was delighted with a win in a match that could easily have ended differently.
