INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's goalkeeper really had to stretch himself to stop the ball from crossing the goal line. Fred Valencia could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 21st minute of the match, but Dong Zhi Hong made a huge save. Dong Zhi Hong was in the perfect position, and the defense had done a good job marking him, but Fred Valencia showcased his skills and made a perfect shot to score 2-0 in the 21 minute of play. Atlético Cristo Rei's Dong Zhi Hong proved his good apprehension of play when he, in the 26th minute of the match, managed to save Atlético Cristo Rei from getting a goal against them. The audience thought a goal was coming when Ezio Gøl got free with Dong Zhi Hong in the 42nd minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. After a rather tough play, Atlético Cristo Rei's Tiago Mangueira got a free kick in the 45th minute. Fred Valencia sent away a hard shot on goal in the 46th minute, but the ball went just over the crossbar and out. A very good chance. The away team players looked dejected as the walked off the pitch at half time. They had fought hard, but were still losing 2-0.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Joe Kalle stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Dong Zhi Hong showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Ezio Gøl, who was totally free with the ball in the 62nd minute. After a defensive mix-up in Atlético Cristo Rei's zone, Fred Valencia stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Dong Zhi Hong came out of the goal and Fred Valencia tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Nilmar de Souza received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 67th minute. Dong Zhi Hong tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. After having played for 68 minutes, Ezio Gøl managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's supporters crossed their fingers, but Ezio Gøl was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Ezio Gøl in the 73rd managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Dong Zhi Hong saved Atlético Cristo Rei from getting behind. Tiago Mangueira hit a great freekick 74 minutes into the match. In the 77th minute of the match Atlético Cristo Rei got a corner. INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Morales Argudin ran over to the corner to take the kick. It was a well-played corner which Enak Saja managed to volley towards the net. Unfortunately, he didn't get a great hit on the ball and it went out into the grandstand. INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA's João Carlos Lucas played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Morales Argudin in the 79th minute of play. Fred Valencia's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Dong Zhi Hong read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 83rd minute of play. If Nilmar de Souza had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 85th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. After 88 played minutes INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA got a freekick which was hit by Leonel Xavier. When Morales Argudin came up free with the goalie in the 88th minute, the Atlético Cristo Rei fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Morales Argudin couldn't finish the play. In the 90th minute, Nilmar de Souza got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Fred Valencia had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 94th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. It was no surprise that this one had ended in a win for the home team. INTERNACIONAL DA BAHIA had played much better football throughout.
