The crowd rose to their feet as Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's Filipe Saraiva slotted home a wonderful shot that went in to the left of Geovânio Paraense. That made the score 1-2 after 54 minutes of play. With his leg Geovânio Paraense managed to avoid a goal in the 57thth minute, when Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's Alf Brander fired away a shot with a lot of spin towards his right hand side. With an all-out effort, Cleytec de Nilópolis RJ's Geovânio Paraense threw himself towards the right post 66 minutes into the match and grabbed hold of the ball from Dário Carneiro, which otherwise would have been placed in the net. Salva Santa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Manuel Negri, who was totally free with the ball in the 78th minute. In the 81st minute Chico de Brito shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Geovânio Paraense saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line.
