Arsenal de Gols F.C's Raimundo Alvarenga got a good chance for a goal in the 3rd minute, but he totally mistimed the shot and it went over the crossbar. 5 minutes into the match, Edu Matorin had an open shot that he just couldn't miss and scored to the right of Serginho Nogueira. PIAUÍ FC's manager could be seen yelling to the referee that Edu Matorin was offside, but the referee ignored the protest. 0-1. Serginho Nogueira came out of the goal in the 8th minute to try and stop a shot by Arsenal de Gols F.C's Raimundo Alvarenga. But to his dismay, Raimundo Alvarenga quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. In the 12th minute the ball was on its way in behind PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Nogueira, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. Raimundo Alvarenga's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serginho Nogueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 15th minute of play. PIAUÍ FC's Serginho Nogueira played magnificently when he managed to stop the ball from hitting the goal, after a sharp shot by Raimundo Alvarenga in the 19th minute of play. With a little luck, Arsenal de Gols F.C's Marcelo Gröhe got control of the ball when Guga Trancoso tried to sneak it across the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Raimundo Alvarenga in the 25th minute of play forced PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Nogueira to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. Serginho Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Alvarenga in the 27th minute of play. In the 28th minute Arsenal de Gols F.C were awarded a corner. Luiz Fabiano Sarmento went to the cornerflag to take it. In the 34th minute, Raimundo Alvarenga got an opportunity to score, but he didn't get a solid hit on the ball and ended up kicking it wide of the goal. If Raimundo Alvarenga had kept his shot down it would have been a goal in the 36th minute. The ball went over the crossbar and out instead. Serginho Nogueira showed brilliant goalkeeper skills when he caught the ball after a hard shot from Raimundo Alvarenga in the 39th minute of the match. The supporters of Arsenal de Gols F.C booed when PIAUÍ FC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 45 match minutes in a wonderful position. Renato Sá didn't get a good kick on the ball. In the 47th minute, Raimundo Alvarenga left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Arsenal de Gols F.C fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-3.

The players of the away team seemed most concentrated when Baturhan Oytun stepped up to make the kick off in the second half. Marcelo Gröhe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Juninho Freitas, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Serginho Nogueira made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Raimundo Alvarenga in the 59th minute of play. After a rather tough play, Arsenal de Gols F.C's Edu Matorin got a free kick in the 61st minute. Arsenal de Gols F.C's Loco Orange was substituted for Georges-Philippe Puttemas. In the 69th minute Guga Trancoso shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Marcelo Gröhe saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Arsenal de Gols F.C made a substitution. Luiz Valadares replaced Bartosz Bentkowski. After 72 minutes Arsenal de Gols F.C's defender was forced to head the ball over the line for a corner. It was Demis Katsarolidis who took care of the corner kick. A nice corner shot did that Demis Katsarolidis got away a dangerous shot. Despite this Marcelo Gröhe quite easily got ahold of the ball to make the save. Loco Orange could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 76th minute of the match, but Serginho Nogueira made a huge save. PIAUÍ FC's Fernandinho Mesquita was substituted for Víktor Santos. PIAUÍ FC's Leonel Fero was substituted for Renato Sá. The supporters of PIAUÍ FC booed when Arsenal de Gols F.C was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 78 match minutes in a wonderful position. Claus Ostwald didn't get a good kick on the ball. Marcelo Gröhe made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Baturhan Oytun in the 79th minute of play. 81 minutes into the match, PIAUÍ FC's goalkeeper Serginho Nogueira had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Loco Orange. In the 82nd minute of the match Arsenal de Gols F.C got a corner. PIAUÍ FC's goalie ran out to the linesman to protest the call, but the linesman resolutely pointed his flag at the cornerflag. Luiz Fabiano Sarmento ran over to the corner to take the kick. The corner ended in João Bertassi almost managing to get the ball behind the net, but PIAUÍ FC's Serginho Nogueira did a great save. Marcelo Gröhe took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Guga Trancoso, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Zé Pedro Paiva's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Serginho Nogueira read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 86th minute of play. Leonel Fero made in the 89th minute of the game a quick throw-in and Fernandinho Mesquita immediately put the ball in play. When Zé Pedro Paiva came up free with the goalie in the 90th minute, the Arsenal de Gols F.C fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Zé Pedro Paiva couldn't finish the play. After a rather tough play, Arsenal de Gols F.C's João Bertassi got a free kick in the 91st minute. The Arsenal de Gols F.C supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Arsenal de Gols F.C would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
