In the 9th minute Jeremias Macedo shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Rodriguinho Sousa saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. An unexpectedly hard shot by Deilmison van Basten in the 11th minute of play forced Rio Verde F.C CIMZ's goalkeeper Amauri Félix to throw himself to the left, to be able to save the ball. The audience thought a goal was coming when Tolgahan Onatkan got free with Rodriguinho Sousa in the 14th minute, but the goalkeeper managed to catch the ball with a huge effort. In the 23rd minute, Vitor Beckenbauer hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. The corner led ATHLETICO PRaiano's Robin van Persie to fire away a dangerous shot which Amauri Félix despite some difficulties managed to get hold on the ball. 39 minutes into the match, ATHLETICO PRaiano's goalkeeper Rodriguinho Sousa had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Tolgahan Onatkan. The supporters of ATHLETICO PRaiano booed when Rio Verde F.C CIMZ was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 43 match minutes in a wonderful position. Mitchel Bakker didn't get a good kick on the ball. The ball could have gone into the goal to the right of the goalkeeper, but Rodriguinho Sousa showed his good shape when he easily got hold of the ball.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Deilmison van Basten to make the kick off. Deilmison van Basten blasted a shot towards the goal in the 53rd minute, but the shot hit the top of the crossbar and went out without Amauri Félix having to make a save. Amauri Félix took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Deilmison van Basten, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Rodriguinho Sousa showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Tolgahan Onatkan, who was totally free with the ball in the 63rd minute.
