In the 4th minute, Froilan Velasco hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Paulo Petrigai showed his good apprehension of the play when he made a fantastic save on a shot from Evaristo Romo, who was totally free with the ball in the 13th minute. Gregorio Ubelteso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Gigi Berbec, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Yala AFC's Clemente Adrio managed to work through Calchines's defense and was going for an easy goal, but he hit the shot with his toe and the ball flew outside the goal. Clemente Adrio dejectedly held out his arms as if to ask why the ball hadn't gone in. Gregorio Ubelteso came out of the goal in the 19th minute to try and stop a shot by Yala AFC's Clemente Adrio. But to his dismay, Clemente Adrio quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-1. In the 27th minute Gigi Berbec shot on, it seemed, an open goal, but Gregorio Ubelteso saw the ball coming and threw himself on it before it passed the goal line. Gregorio Ubelteso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Higinio Modestio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. In the 29th minute, Valeriu Anton left the goalkeeper for dead before tapping the ball into the right side of the net. The Yala AFC fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. 37 minutes into the game, Yala AFC's Clemente Adrio nearly tore a hole in the net with a booming shot. Gregorio Ubelteso made a valiant effort, but he could not reach the ball in time, 0-3. Honorio Montrel kicked well hit freekick during the 41st minute of the match. After a rather tough play, Calchines's Prospero Chabier got a free kick in the 47th minute. Gregorio Ubelteso took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Clemente Adrio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. Even after changing tactics the home team jogged off the field with a 0-3 deficit. They would have to work harder if they wanted to turn things around in the second half.

The hometeam waved at the audience when it was time for Clemente Adrio to strike the kick off in the second half. The supporters of Calchines booed when Yala AFC was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 63 match minutes in a wonderful position. Froilan Velasco didn't get a good kick on the ball. Paulo Petrigai was clearly disgusted with the effort of the defense and let the defenders know about it. In the 83rd minute, Claudio Maura hit a crossing free kick to the open man running down the field. Gregorio Ubelteso made an important save on a dangerous shot by Clemente Adrio in the 85th minute. Honorio Montrel hit a great freekick 88 minutes into the match. After 94 minutes of play Yala AFC's Froilan Velasco was too eager in his attempt to stop his opponent and brought him down. With that he got his second yellow card and was ordered off the ground. In the 93rd minute, one of Yala AFC:s players had the ball in front of the goal but got pushed and fell. The referee felt it was an obvious case and blew a penalty for Yala AFC. The final whistle blew with the score still tied, and both teams left the pitch thinking about the missed chances that could have given their team the win.
