After taking down the ball on Calchines's corner Claudio Maura fired away a hard shot, but the defenders efficiently covered the most dangerous angles and Bernabe Paio quite easily take care of the ball. 13 minutes into the match, Barranqueras's goal looked a bit too open when Miguel Marino came free, but Bernabe Paio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Evaristo Romo received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 16th minute. Bernabe Paio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. The audience was convinced that Evaristo Romo's extremely hard shot when he got free in front of the goal was going in, but Bernabe Paio was relentless in the 19th minute of the game. Thanks to some nice foot action and superb ball handling Evaristo Romo in the 25th minute a chance for a shot on goal. With an extended leg and a bit of luck Bernabe Paio prevented the ball from getting in the gole. After 26 minutes of play, Calchines's Clodoveo Ereinotz made it 0-1 when he simply outclassed the defender marking him and hit a curling shot into the right side of the net. Bernabe Paio was left in no man's land by his defense there! After a defensive mix-up in Barranqueras's zone, Cristo Chano stole the ball and had only the goalie to beat. Bernabe Paio came out of the goal and Cristo Chano tried to chip the ball over his head. To his dismay, the ball went over the crossbar and out of play. Bernabe Paio stood for a superb save when he managed to get hold of Evaristo Romo's shot from short distance in the 32nd minute. Cristo Chano received a nice pass in the box and took a hard shot in the 34th minute. Bernabe Paio tensed up and prepared to dive, but the shot went over the goal with him having to interfere. 35 minutes into the match, Barranqueras's goal looked a bit too open when Primitivo Favila came free, but Bernabe Paio reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Bernabe Paio came out of the goal in the 37th minute to try and stop a shot by Calchines's Evaristo Romo. But to his dismay, Evaristo Romo quickly shot the ball in between his legs and into the goal making it 0-2. A collision led to Barranqueras getting a freekick after 41 minutes play. Filomeno Erdiano hit a great ball. When Calchines's Evaristo Romo in the 43rd minute got a chance for a shot 43rd didn't hesitate and placed the ball to the right of the goalie. A beautiful save bye Barranqueras's goalie prevented a goal. After having played for 44 minutes, Miguel Marino managed to get in a good position for a shot on goal. Calchines's supporters crossed their fingers, but Miguel Marino was, after a quick turn that froze the defenders, out of balance and shot the ball just to the right of the goal. The crowd was extremely unhappy with the home team's performance in the first half. They were losing 0-2.

With a little luck, Barranqueras's Bernabe Paio got control of the ball when Miguel Marino tried to sneak it across the goal line. Evaristo Romo's shot was meant for the net just under the crossbar, but Bernabe Paio read the situation well and was quickly in position to make a wonderful save in the 92nd minute of play. Filomeno Erdiano fired away a difficult shot at goal in the 95th minute. He almost succeeded, but the ball went over. It was a very nice shot. Cristo Chano struck a weak shot in the 98th minute. Bernabe Paio didn't even have to move as the ball rolled over the line well wide of the goal. A wasted opportunity for Calchines. Calchines's players went to the stands to thank the travelling support. The fan's backing had helped spurr the team on to a fine performance that won them the match.
