The Peralta fans were clearly happy with the effort and the scoreboard reflected the new score: 0-2. Mark Viduka could have scored with his fast shot on goal in the 36th minute of the match, but Isidro Gilesindo made a huge save. Candido Gagriel took care of the ball after a well-directed shot from Edgardo Rainerio, even though the ball almost passed him on his left side. When Mark Viduka came up free with the goalie in the 47th minute, the Hay Ekipo fans jumped to their feet. But the shot missed the goal by a fraction of an inch, and the fans sat back down disappointed that Mark Viduka couldn't finish the play. After the first half Peralta were leading 0-2. They had played with great self confidence throughout the first half and fully deserved their lead.

Both teams looked relatively alert before the second half when the referee blew his whistle to tell Patricio Txema to make the kick off. 52 minutes into the match, Hay Ekipo's goalkeeper Candido Gagriel had to clear away a ball on his right side after a cunning shot by Melchor Mendiko. Hay Ekipo's attacker deliberately struck the ball against an opponent to win a corner for his team. The corner was taken by Oğuzkan Şahap in the 55th minute. Hay Ekipo's Oğuzkan Şahap was first on the ball when the corner was shot and he dangerously headed the ball towards goal, but Isidro Gilesindo in the goal jumped up to prevent it from getting in. The supporters of Hay Ekipo booed when Peralta was adjudged a doubtful freekick after 56 match minutes in a wonderful position. Melchor Mendiko didn't get a good kick on the ball. Patricio Txema fired away a screaming shot towards the goal in the 60th minute, but the shot went just over the crossbar without Isidro Gilesindo having to interfere. Candido Gagriel made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Sergio Marin in the 78th minute of play. 79 minutes into the match, Hay Ekipo's goal looked a bit too open when Sergio Marin came free, but Candido Gagriel reached the ball before it rolled over the goal line. Isidro Gilesindo made a wonderful reflex save on a shot from Patricio Txema in the 83rd minute of play. With a couple of smart ball manuevers Sergio Marin in the 88th managed to get into a good position. With a left leg Candido Gagriel saved Hay Ekipo from getting behind. In the 91st minute the ball was on its way in behind Peralta's goalkeeper Isidro Gilesindo, but with the help of a sacrificing defense, he could catch the ball at the crossbar. 95 minutes into the game, Mark Viduka was given a yellow card after he appeared to trip an opposing player. Hay Ekipo's manager was livid on the sidelines, but the referee was unmoved and gave Peralta the free kick. In the 95th match minute, Hay Ekipo was awarded a freekick, the ball was picked up by Mark Viduka to maneuver through the defense. In the 98th minute Saul Velasco managed to get in a great position but fired away a sharp shot that went outside the goal on the goalie's right hand side. It could just as well have been a goal. The Peralta supporters could be heard counting down the last seconds of the match. They errupted in celebration when the whistle blew, knowing Peralta would go home with victory in their luggage after a match that easily could have ended differently.
